I mean you know UC is the only main timeline in Gundam. No one really takes other timelines that seriously so after the first 4 installments you can watch whatever you want in practically any order. Big franchise? Yes. But complicated? I don’t think so.
The biggest 3 mecha series are Code Geass, Evangelion and then Gurren Lagann so they deserve the title "Big 3." I think Gundam however is the equivalent to Dragonball in that its not the most popular but extremely influential and important for the ones that came after.
The House in Fata Morgana - 10/10
Finally, after a ten month journey to get through this incredible game I can confidently say that The House in Fata Morgana is my favorite piece of media ever. This will be a thread covering my general thoughts and opinions on the game.
Surprised to not see any discussion surrounding the the hack that took place this morning on MyAnimeList. Shortly before the site was shutdown for maintenance every anime in the database was renamed to "Lets All Love Lain." It's been 12 hours since and the site is still down.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes Season 1 Complete - 9.5/10
Although only a quarter of the way through the OVA, I am inclined to consider this the greatest anime ever made. The vastness of its world still retains a high level of detail contributing not only to…
Finished Gintama Season 1
A charming episodic comedy with a fun cast and lots of endearing arcs/episodes. The cheap budget and inconsistent quality made many parts feel like a grueling slog but overall it was a pretty good show. Time to start season two.
Score: 6/10
People talk about humanities greatest achievements like landing on the moon or developing vaccines but fail to recognize the greatest of all which is the existance of Berserk.
At the great age of 72, Yoshiaki Kawajiri is still producing some of the best work of his career. Storyboarding episodes 8, 13 and 16 of Vinland Saga s2 while still employing a lot of his well-known visual trademarks and stylistic flourishes.
It's unfortunate that Mushishis incredible thematic/narrative aspects are completely overshadowed by people who label the show as "atmospheric." It's weird because Mushishi has a very pulled back approach to it's presentation in order to draw more attention to it's narrative.
Wonderful Everyday - Route 1 ✅
Down the Rabbit Hole
Decided to finally tap in on this and it was a bit better than I expected. Might actually continue.
I wouldn't mind people discussing there 5s and 6s more often. Like even if the the overall experience of a show isn't very strong there can still be some interesting aspects to take away or are worth noting. Maybe some striking character designs, color aesthetics or OST etc.
I finished Fata Morgana Door 8
Just as great and if not better than door 7 which I didn't even think was possible. Absolutely a masterpiece and one of the greatest experiences I've had with a piece of media. Yeah, and its not over yet. Onto Requiem!
10/10
Was not expecting to get so much shit for posting this. Wtf is up with the mecha fans and there elitist attitudes? Its just my opinion but I respect others if they define what the big 3 is differently.
The biggest 3 mecha series are Code Geass, Evangelion and then Gurren Lagann so they deserve the title "Big 3." I think Gundam however is the equivalent to Dragonball in that its not the most popular but extremely influential and important for the ones that came after.
I don't understand the hate Konosuba has been recieving in recent years and especially on this new season announcement. While writing the comedy off as immature and schlocky people continue to praise series like Miss Kobayashi, Gintama or Kaguya Sama, despite utilizing...
@regularaugust
This is based Miyazaki in his prime. Bro was so far ahead of the curve. Even when the industry had been saturated with shitty action shows and romcoms were beginning to flourish (and arguably peaked) he was still hating in the entire genre. My goat
@C_skalt
Good take. I also think people underrate how ambitious the storytelling is in terms of scale and efficiency which makes everything even more impressive.
Finished Aria The Origination - 8/10
From start to finish this series never fails to deliver an experiece that is both soothing and incredibly endearing as well. Some of the mid 2000s aesthetics seen in both the backgrounds and simplistic character art have actually aged...
@bozobruh
Pretty sure the only thing drawn here is the boat. The ocean is a photograph thats been sharpened to make it look drawn, atleast thats the way it looks to me.
Wonderful Everyday - Chapter 7 ✅
Jabberwocky 2
Was hoping for a bit more from the final chapter but the game finished with relative consistency compared to the rest. Not bad overall.
Rakugo Shinjuu - 10/10
A riveting exploration of incredibly profound ideas such as generational change and the power that art possesses to transcend time. Brilliant in both concept and execution, with Bon being the cornerstone for which the series is built. Amazing.
Giant Robo - 8/10
This seven episode OVA is a large scale, over the top mecha action series. It is also partially a coming of age story for the MC, Daisaku and oozes that Gainax flair from something like Gunbuster. The beginning portions of the show were probably...
Finished Nana (anime) - 8/10
The second half of the show has some of the best wtitten character drama I've seen in anime. I'm impressed by how nuanced and complex these dynamics are and the subject matter that it deals with only enhances the experience. We're not watching...
Texhnolyze - 9/10
Since Texhnolyze is turning 20 years old this year I decided it was finally time to give it a watch. Despite the mixed feelings I've heard people express over the years for it's beginning episodes I was impressed from start to finish. Not only was I engaged...
While looking into art for the Millenium Actress I stumbled upon these fake film posters for the movies that Chiyoko starred in. I had no idea these existed but they actually look really cool. Not sure if these are translated any where cause I kinda want to know what they say.
Sakuma is the underrated goat of Ping Pong for me. People don't mention him much likely because his themes aren't all that original and the rest of the cast kind of steals the spotlight. But personally I've never been hit harder by the theme of hard work/talent in any other show.

No because the movement itself is its own thing. Theres a whole website for it and the movement generally speaking has its own agenda that it tries to push. Its not as literal as saying that black people matter. Its much deeper.
Here is an up to date list of my current favorites. Aside from bebop being number one, it's pretty much unordered. Still need to watch more shows before I put together a top 9 I'm actually confident in.
Finally I want to just thank Keika Hanada, the man that wrote the story. A full year of planning and you can tell he poured his heart and soul into it. He is one of the best writers I have ever seen and I couldn't be more thankful to him.
Michel is my second favorite character in the game and is every bit as good as Jacopo. Can't really discuss much of his character without getting into heavy spoilers but I think he holds one of the most cathartic and emotional scenes I have ever experieced.
Things have gone far enough, stop treating Sonny Boy like it’s the second coming of Eva. Its character work is lousy, just fitting stereotypes to progress an already contrived and absurdist plot. Even the best parts of the show related to its theming runs dry in the last leg.
and planning put into it. He grew on me over time and his dynamic with Morgana is one of the best I've seen. He is a very complex character dealing with real mental issues and themes of personal ambition, isolation, corruption of power and also redemption.
a similar style of childish slapstick comedy. I would argue Konosuba outdoes most of it's contemporaries thanks to it's superb comedic timing and visual flair. While I don't exactly love the show, I can't help but defend it from seemingly disingenuous critisisms.
Jacopo is now my favorite character of all time. This was tuff for me to say considering my connection with Guts over the last few years. Jacopo's journey in A Requiem for Innocence is not only very ambitious but the writing itself is tight with so much thought...
People really think MHA just fell off randomly when in reality the series has been on a downward trend for years. Arguably was never that great to begin with.
@DarcWoIf
@DirtyDarkBird
I love how every time someone rates it 10/10 they point out the fact how slow and boering the start of the series is, completely contradicting there rating in the same tweet.
The concept of transcending death is one of the coolest ideas ever. I've seen a number of series approach this concept differently but I always end up finding it weirdly powerful. Here is a short thread of my favorite examples of this idea (no order):
3x3 April media experiences.
Overall a great month with a nice variety of different genres and styles. The top two are pretty much interchangeable and both are 9s.
The game itself is just beyond words really. I think the presentation is stellar across the board with not only amazing artwork but also my favorite OST of all time. Serie de Fragmento and Giselle are my two favorite tracks in the game and probably even my favorite songs ever.
The Prison arc of Ashita no Joe was really good and this show continues to impress on all fronts. Joe's character is starting to really take shape and I'm loving the direction it's going. Right now his strong determination is being fueled solely by his rivalry with...

Being well articulated or maybe expressive, perfectly conveying his emotions and putting them into words. Being structured well with brisk pacing while keeping the the right amount of detail is key.

I think the biggest contributor to DS winning was the community. MOB wasnt talked about much at all. It never "blew up" at any point. Where as DS getting a shoutout from Ninja, trending on Twitter from, and the manga certainly made a difference aswell.
Thematically the game is dense with the core idea being mainly about perspective and how we can grow as people through better understanding eachother. Of course there is a lot more I could say and expand upon but I think that would be spoiling the experience.

1. She Killed off a main cast member
2. Her only personality trait was that she hated eldians
3. She acted like a total bitch for most of the story
4. She killed off a main cast member

Rewatched Spirited Away - 9/10
Originally gave this a light 6 years ago thinking it was wildly overrated but I'm glad to see how much my taste has changed. This movie is a masterpiece on all fronts, packed full of strong themes and messages with jaw dropping presentation.
a treat to experience all the twists and turns throughout as the story unravels. I seriously can't express how great I think it is enough. The artist Moyataro deserves tons of praise for his outstanding work on this series, the character designs/art all look amazing.
@mangadoge
Dumbest shit ive ever seen. Complaing over an image that last 2sec in the show. Look to some of the best manga to anime adaptations and you could do the same exact thing for any of them. You could easily point out a poorly drawn scene in ANY anime honestly. Mob, 1punch, FMAB etc
Structurally the game is really intriguing. Being a mystery series events are sometimes told out of order making the reader piece it together keeping the experience engaging. Add onto that the heavy gothic/gritty atmosphere and it really becomes...
Updated 3x3 of my favorite OPs
Thought I'd update the list with Mushishi included. It's always fun going back and relistening to my favorites every once in a while.
I actually disagree with the notion that Gintama has a bad hook or premise. Honestly it's probably the best of any episodic comedy series I can think of and is also one of the core strengths of the series as well. Aliens inviding feudal Tokyo is not just strange and...
Worst hook of all time, a big snoozefest at first, but gets hella good in S2, really strong cast one gets attached to and has a lot of charm with its imperfectness. Can see it become a favorite if the highest peaks really delivers. Also I'm crushing on Tae, Kyuubei and Tsukuyo
Episode 8, Encountering the Unknown stands amongst the best of what Mob Psycho has to offer. Like the series itself, the point of the episode is simple and it's ideas aren't wholly unqiue but still manages to exude this sense of boundless creativity and heartwarming...
Sangatsu no Lion has some pretty insane potential. If season 3 can maintain the same level of production as season 2 while also delivering on a more focused and in depth arc for Reis character I could see it becoming a high favorite. The first season did...
Mushishi - 9/10
Welp, it's over. Though, I still have a lot to dig into and explore. This is a show that needs to pored over and analyzed extensively, it deserves it. It's not just a laid back experience but one of the few series I would consider to be truly thought provoking.
We need more big name studios doing Visual Novel adaptations. Steins;Gate, Clannad, Higurashi and Fate are proof that they can be done well and also be highly profitable. After there overwhelming success in the 00s I would have expected the trend to continue into the 2010s but...
