Not such a distant past for some. I stood at a village War Memorial and watches a boy not much older than me wearing his fathers medals. Twenty years later I watched people being blown up attending a Remembrance Day Sunday. I have never had much faith in " never again ".

I can imagine a similar exchange in London if 1300 people had been savagely murdered and/or raped and hostages taken. I heard very similar in Northern Ireland after a bombing or assassination campaign. You've lived a very comfortable life for a journalist it seems to me !

This is not true. They are most definately NOT calling for an end to violence in Gaza. They're calling for an end to the search for hostages - dead or alive - in Rafah, and by extension, a deal to keep Hamas in power to strike again.

Where is the messenger getting his figures from ? Because I distinctly remember after 2014 Hamas came forward and admitted 700 of the dead were theirs. And child soldiers, fighting in plain clothes, are being included. And my humanity, in the main, is focused on victims of Oct 7.
