Good to speak with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister @AymanHsafadi. 🇯🇴. We discussed the warm bilateral relationship between Ireland and Jordan. I assured him of our continued close cooperation and support towards peace in the Middle East.

Called to Monaghan today and met the @MonaghanCoCo crisis management meeting working on recovery after the storm. Grateful to them for the briefing.

An early visit to Belfast today to meet the First Minister, deputy First Minister, political party leaders and representatives and the Speaker of the Stormont Assembly.

Started the morning with a visit to Cathal Brugha Barracks to meet the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces. Very grateful to all those who serve in our Defence Forces at home and on peacekeeping missions abroad.

Determined to support them in their work and take my role in terms of the security of our State seriously. Looking forward to working with them as Tanaiste and Minister for Defence.

Good to speak with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha this morning. We discussed Ukraine’s priorities and needs and I assured him of Ireland’s full solidarity and support in the face of Russia’s criminal aggression.
