Behind every unpaid carer is a chronically ill person. Take the unpaid carer out for a meal, to a social activity, on a walk. But REMEMBER at home on their own is the chronically ill person. Society provides no one else to care for them.

I have removed the ping pong 🏓 from my name because I am no longer being sent between social care and the NHS. The local government ombudsman helped to end the match 🙂 I have a twice daily basic needs package for me and a twice a week break from being my husband's carer 🙂

My social worker yesterday stated the risk assessment is to protect the care workers as they have to be protected. What has soceity come too? The primary aim is to protect a care worker. What has happened to looking after the person in need of support?!

Care plan from the care agency have arrived and I have literally sat and sobbed. There are so many errors. 😭 I have no fight left in me. My voice isnt heard or listened too. That is all the document yells at me.

For anyone wondering my social care package has increased to 14 hours per week for wash/shower and dressing support every 12 hours (7am and 7pm). It is important to me that I am clean and I can change clothes regularly.

#RealCarersWeek Another one people do not see is the carer cannot do what they want to do and often this means the cared for person cannot do what they would like to do. This results in both being trapped in basics and totally unhappy. Destroying relationships!

We were brave today. We went on a bus to town. First time since 2020. Me in manual wheelchair pushed by an anxious husband. We went to see the Light Organ in the Minister. It was a great workshop.

@DrHannahBB It hit me hard because a fortnight ago my mother stopped talking to me. And todays news made me just want to go to her and hold/hug her tight. Yet she still isn’t contacting me though I am reaching out to her almost daily. The silence leaves me 😭

The OT has found us a suitable temporary property. We cannot move tonight as we are too tired. We will move on Thursday. It is an empty shell but we are so grateful for the OTs work. It just shows God provides for us!

@paulapeters2 @RMTunion I am often sat too low in wheelchair to see the screen because of this I have never tried to use one. I am anxious about next time I need to travel if I have to attempt to use a ticket machine. I don't even use cash machines. I go to a post office person.

No longer on a waiting list for a care provider.Waited ten months and have been removed because there is nothing. Sent emails on Saturday but the silence is deafening. The silence has totally drained me. Laid on sofa with twitter for company Tears comes in waves as I lost battle.

People talk about autism as though it is the only condition a person has. Whilst I have autism. It isn't the reason I am on a long term sick note. I have multiple long term health conditions found by blood tests, body samples and scans.

The biggest barrier is when a council says your needs are too high for social care. And the nhs say your needs are too low for continuing healthcare. You end up living in no man’s land for days, weeks, months and years…..

I can see what is happening. PM wants to launch white paper for sick notes and disability benefit reform in September in time for Autumn Budget. PM will call election for January 2025 the latest he can. Ensuring most harm is done to the "vulnerable" in all areas of life.

If you cannot get a PCR test then of course the number of positive cases will drop. This does not mean there are less positive cases. It means there are less PCR tests available to discover positive cases. Please find some common sense British Media and British Government.

Been assessed as Nil Contribution for my Social Care Charges. Great you think! The council have to fund all my care but they will not commission me a service. They are currently trying to shove me over to the chc team. Who are naturally shoving me back at the council. 🏓

Controversial Tweet I wish authorities would put CCTV in homes of people who have unpaid and paid care workers providing care. This way authorities could see what care is provided and what isn't provided. Rather than decide the person receiving care is lying.

We have asked for time apart support on a weekly basis. Getting asked if we will go to a cafe and sit on different tables with a support worker each instead of going to different places. 🥺 I wanted to go to a holy communion service. He wanted to go to a mens talking groups 🥺
