I will never not be pissed off at bean counter Sunak for wrecking HS2 when it was under construction. Should be built in full to Mcr and Leeds. Projects like that don't come along very often and his poor decision means we are stuck with Victorian train lines for many more decades
268 kmh through Kent on HS1. Meanwhile, on the "classic" network, a speed limit of 50 mph applies due to danger of falling trees. This is your occasional reminder that modern infrastructure is a lot more resilient. It's not just about speed! Just get on and build HS2 in full.
