@binnahar85
“There are other cultures with different values that should be equally respected” Why? Not all values are equally respectable. Ridiculous to suggest all values are equally worthy of respect. I wouldn’t say the values espoused by for example the Nazi Party should’ve been respected
@DaveAtherton20
Why are they so attracted to children? Is it perversion or just because they can’t fight back?
This kid will have problems (mental and physical) for life:
@AyoCaesar
It’s silly how they often say they’re not using seat reservations due to the train being too busy - aka the exact time when you’d actually care about having a specific reserved seat!
@HeyThatsMyLeg
Similarly, they see any tweet written in English and automatically assume that it’s about America and reply with something completely irrelevant to the actual national context (which would’ve been immediately obvious to them if they’d read anyones replies/the link etc)
@asifkapadia
@tariqpanja
Hospitable countries also respect the cultures of their guests and make allowances and provisions for those cultures. E.g. a lot of venues in the UK make sure there are halal options available, an accessible prayer room etc. Its called being civilised.
@memeticsisyphus
Also, why is something automatically regarded as an untouchable touchstone of high culture just because it started ages ago.
That’s like revering the Macarena in a thousand years purely because it’s an example of “ancient culture”
@FBAwayDays
@paddykenny17
The name of that child? Paddy Kenny.
Kenny went on to play under Neil Warnock at 5 different clubs.
Meanwhile, Warnock had his house redecorated by Kenny Decorators Ltd a further 9 times
@GeorgeLineker
Seems like he’s some kind of YouTube entertainer that’s just for kids so can’t really judge him on that. No idea why he’s suddenly all over my feed though. Seems like some adults watch/engage with him too. Need their hard drive checking.
@jasebyjason
Life in the uk/the world in the 90s seemed very chilled, happy, positive/upbeat, optimistic, fun and peaceful. I’d have looked 25-30 years into the future and imagined people today living in luxury, with clean highly civilised city, amazing transport etc. Progress.
What changed?
@reinaldo08
@antpats2
Spotify algorithm has got worse: instead of exposing me to new music, if I listen to their ‘daily playlists’ it ends up just selecting the same tracks I’ve heard over and over again in ever decreasing circles. The complete opposite of its purpose. It’s trash now.
@Viggie_Smalls93
I’ve known people get to their late-ish 20s and keep announcing they’re “too old now” for stuff like going to a club - almost with joy, as if they couldn’t wait to finally have a ‘legitimate’ excuse to not do something they never really enjoyed
@rishmishra
@yokaihainen
I don’t understand why so many Americans don’t. Are they so desperate to spend every week of their life working hard to help their employers generate a profit?
@GenxAnecdotes
@Sargon_of_Akkad
What do you think it will be like when your daughter is your age? How many times do you think she’ll feel she has to move home? Where do you think she’ll go? Can you see the trend changing?
@DaveAtherton20
I wonder if things will just kick off now every time something happens somewhere that someone doesn’t like. It’s so effective, but so tedious for everyone else. Tram system at a standstill because of it in Manchester now. People having to get off trams and walk down the track
@emilyhewertson
Girl: ‘knows all about’ a few things based on random tweets and TikToks she’s seen whilst scrolling through memes and celebrity gossip
Also girl: won’t be told anything to contradict that knowledge or listen to someone reply in full sentences to a question she asked
@harrisonjbrock
‘Breaks silence’. Breaks what ‘silence’. Hate the way gutter press journos always use that phrase instead of like ‘said’. You never see it in like The Financial Times do you. ‘Chancellor breaks silence on interest rate plans’
@Slackenough
Makes it sound like a road traffic accident, where he could’ve even been the one driving!
Pretty different from “was giving first aid on the pavement and someone murdered him by driving a car over him”
@mcandidate
Hate him so much. He’s so fake and cheesy, with his big open mouth soy gurning, And clearly just a grifter who pretends everything is amazing in return for free food.
@CallumAbroad
Older guy has to sit back down in that cramped seat next to her whilst she’s got the lad’s jizz dripping out of her clunge for the rest of the flight. Hope it’s not hot on board. Gonna start to get ripe
@X_Translator
@lporiginalg
Why would an Algerian man in Ireland stab Irish children because of something to do with Israel or Palestine?
Neither the attacker nor the victims have anything to do with either of those countries. It makes no sense
@madisontayt_
They’ll also loudly *claim* to be sex-positive (in theory), and outwardly be vehemently supportive of any sexual activity, kink or preference (as long as it’s not cishet ideally), but then shrink away from anything sexual when confronted with it directly in their own lives
@LeilaniDowding
Why can’t the festival just Be Kind? Surely there are enough resources to go around? Why not charge ticket holders more, as a kind of tax.
This just makes the festival more ✨vibrant✨
@gmbarnard22
Why did people (eg on the news) start correctly pronouncing it (sometimes over pronouncing it) as “Keeeev”? Why now? And why do they still pronounce the ‘s’ in ‘Paris’? Weirdly selective
@backpainandwine
That’s the state of tabloid journalism. Even if they had no clue what ‘museo’ might mean you’d think they’d at least clock that it was a brown sign and therefore was referring to a specific site, not a town/place name
@peterstopcrime
Why do they love sharing women so much, and having sex/raping in groups?
And why are they so open about it with each other. Like they just *assume* everyone they know (and even ones they don’t know) will be a) ok with it and b) want to join in
@yosoymichael
There’s 5 nominee slots for Supporting Actor, 5 for Best Actress.
That Ryan got a Supporting nomination but the (popular) lead actress from the same (popular) film DIDN’T get a nom implies Best Actress is the more competitive category, with more great performances to choose from
@peterstopcrime
How does the fact that his wife never bothered to learn English - and they clearly don’t speak English at home - count in his FAVOUR?!
A further negative if anything
@BeardedGenius
Kane over Beckham?! Le Tissier over Rooney?! Swear he’s answering at random and has no clue who half of these are, much less about their relative skills and achievements
@UtdPlug
@jamesbenge
@CBSSports
Damn, United don’t stand a chance now. Onana grew up with Al-Nassr posters on his wall, one day dreaming of playing there
@theLordeEnjoyer
True. And, vice versa, probably more people who were intending to see Oppenheimer will now also go and see Barbie, who otherwise might not have bothered
@peterstopcrime
He looks rtrdd. Look at his pathetic hat. Guarantee he’s a taxi driver or late night kebab shop ‘chef’. He’ll never contribute anything of value to society. Would be worth infinitely more as fertiliser
@10MarXmen
@Klaus_Arminius
The police would arrest you and the judge would take pleasure in making an example of you and putting you behind bars for a long time
@DaveAtherton20
If travelling to or from your house, always give the address of a neighbouring building to the taxi driver and wait/get dropped off there instead
