@Michell22588142 @ask_aubry Oh no, he accidentally choked to death in front of me years ago.

@ask_aubry My husband pinned me face down and anally raped me because I wasn't thrilled with being a mother and didn't want sex. I thought my barely healed cesear wound was gonna tear.

@12thBrokage @Michell22588142 @ask_aubry All your responses have made me laugh. Compare this to my doctor. Several years later, I went to him in a flood of tears because I'd only just come to terms with the abuse and was very depressed. The first thing he said was, "Have you forgiven him?". I don't go to him anymore 🤬.

@DrDoyleSays I don't mention my suicidal thoughts because then the focus will be on that, rather than WHY I feel this way. I've wanted to die for more than 20 years. I've learned not to spook the normies because it's usually detrimental for me.

@RevRichard3rdJD @MaestroMorgan17 No "lucky husband", I'm happily single. Why on earth would I ask anyone to do something they weren't qualified or experienced enough to do?.

@BadMedicalTakes I'm left and feminist af, but also a nurse. This rhetoric that vasectomy is so easily reversed that it's a good temporary form of birth control is factually incorrect. If a man knows they never want kids in the future, it's a great option. But it's often permanent.

@DaphneMPenn I went to a doc because I had constant pain in my neck and left arm. I suggested my HH boobs might be a factor. I was told some women would LOVE big tits and I should just lose weight and offered no pain options. Turns out I have a prolapsed disc in my neck.

@nuclearfem Unfortunately, movies, TV, and stories have long trained us to equate attractive=good, ugly=bad. It's literally one of the reasons the Prince being the bad guy in Frozen was an unexpected "twist".

@haveyounofaith @littlecowplant @slutriarch @fossilizedsaps Parents getting divorced doesn't mean the kids go without a father. If either parent completely bails, it's because of deeper issues that the marriage could not possibly have fixed.

@phildirtbike @ask_aubry And then the outer labia gets sewn together, leaving a gap for the vaginal opening. This suture is torn or cut open during childbirth. It's not even close to male circumcision (which is also mutilation).

@IntrovertProbss An actual conversation I had: "so if you're not going away somewhere, why do you need a holiday?" "I don't need to go anywhere, I just need to be not here" "but if you're not travelling somewhere what's the point?".

@VickiPlatt5 @JaneCaro @johnfraser54 I was repeatedly raped by my fiance. I didn't report it because I didn't want CPS involved, I had no hard evidence, I had nowhere to go, I couldn't afford rent alone dispite working full-time, I couldn't afford to quit my job to look after my kid.

@DoomScroling @Avviegamergirl There are tons of examples of sex-strikes working. Iceland's women famously went on a complete strike of sex, childcare, and work (where practicable), and now there have the highest gender equality rating in the world.

@DaphneMPenn A different doc said a glass of wine would treat vaginismis. Another one said "all this over a boy?" because I was crying from repressed memories of how sexually abusive my dead fiance was. He then asked if I forgiven the fiance. I avoid doctors now.

@Carina_Amyth @ask_aubry I had a boyfriend who PARTICULARLY liked having sex during my period. He seemed to like the smell and mess (on a towel). In hindsight, that was weird in a whole different way.

@nogod_pinesnake @BadMedicalTakes I'm talking about when it's touted as a temporary thing that can be reversed as a form of birth control. I want men to stop cumming and leaving, but this particular method would render some men who want kids later as infertile. This is not a good way forward.

@nogod_pinesnake @BadMedicalTakes There actually is a male birth control pill that, like the female version, works as long as you take it. Convincing male CEOs to fund it, much less convincing men to take it is a WHOLE other conversation.

@CitizenPort @BadMedicalTakes The human body is like that. A healed wound that disappears in one person might leave a scar in another for the same type of wound. Vasectomy is reversible some of the time, but permanent for many others.

@haveyounofaith @littlecowplant @slutriarch @fossilizedsaps That situation is awful. Getting the courts involved is less common in Australia.

@Vexxie_in @nuclearfem That's why I said "part of." If he had been ugly yet as confident as the prince, the dynamic and audience expectations would have been different. For an ugly character to be "good," they are written to be dorky/clumsy/naive/puppy levels of sweet.

@Laocitheronia @Aborti0nRights I ghosted a therapist because his advice was to immediately comment on my clothes (I threw on the first thing to hand) and to tell me to pay more attention to my appearance and do breathing exercises while drinking chamomile tea. Yep, that will address childhood trauma and rape.
