State Sen. Stephanie Flowers had a powerful and emotional response to a white lawmaker trying to silence her in a debate on Arkansas' ‘stand your ground’ gun laws

Y’all acting like they’re going to get black lung by showing up to the office to work 😂
It’s a job, not a charity. A highly paid one at that.
@michaelsayman
@danielkempe
Lmao that’s basically what I said to the Apple employee as well.
It’s like comparing the T-Mobile G1 to the iPhone. Same category, but so so so far apart.
@sdw
Simple answer. The grey beards who invented everything retired and the next generation thought up a bunch of new programming paradigms that don’t actually improve software, but makes it more difficult tomorrow maintain.
@M1Astra
@pitdesi
I don’t think I’ve seen a better example of a video being a giant red flag.
IMO the people inside Meta are clearly worried about the positive public perception around Vision Pro.
Whenever another company has to directly talk about its competitor, it knows they’re in trouble.
@Javi
No. Software today sucks, big difference. The fact that the computers we’re using are well above the super computers in the 90’s and can’t run a fucking web browser says all you need to know about software quality. Computer power has increased exponentially...has a web browser?
@ezlazar
Your employer is cheap and would rather build a lighthouse than a daycare facility for their players.
Never-mind actually spending real cash dollars on talent.
Tom Brady single handed masked just how second rate of an organization New England is.
@keithellison
..your kidding right. The banks we bailed out should be your first concern. Not the damn companies that made the phone that let you tweet
@ChristianSelig
Would love a gesture where having an open palm and then making a closed fist brings up the home screen. Get’s annoying to constantly reach for the crown.
@Harjeet
I lost 15 pounds in the first 3 weeks of this year with minimal exercise. The secret? No sugar, period. Also only eating from 10am-6pm. What a crazy difference just those two make.
@SenseiFaneto
@CMWAshby
My guess is Ahsoka will use the purgill to follow their migration to the next galaxy. Whats interesting is all material for the advertisement of the show covered basically the first 4 episodes.
Haven’t seen much other than a quick shot of Thrawn as a reference to whats next.
@Lunayian
Can clearly see how much better Apple’s frameworks are compared to running Polyspatial from Unity just based on the hand occlusion.
You can’t do that without tracking hands with sub 7ms latency.
Polyspatial is in beta for a reason. Long road ahead for visionOS
@concept_central
I mean…you do know thats how progress is made right?
You build in a vacuum with your own intuitions, then you ship and receive real use feedback.
According to you, Apple should have just stopped after the first Apple Watch because all it could really do is tell the time.
@howardzinn22
Thats the dumbest logic I’ve encountered in a long time. I guess we should break up McDonalds because we use public roads to drive there.
@SadlyItsBradley
@brutalmog
You have to use:
Xcode -> Reality Composer Pro
Then you can record 4k quality from the device without the foveated rendering but it causes slow down on the Vision Pro due to how intensive it is on the m2.
@ylecun
Explain to us again how Quest is an “open” platform?
Can other OEMs build headsets using your forked version of Android? No.
Can other OEMs install their own app stores on QuestOS natively? No.
Quest is more like a Xbox and less like a Windows machine.
@sdw
Don’t know about you buy my parents have been dying to get tricked by Facebook ads into installing the Spotify App Store sponsored by Pepsi for years now 😅
@benz145
Its like telling people “yeah I know the blackberry can make phone calls, do messaging, emails, and surf the web, but multitouch is a game changer”
You have to feel it/experience it for yourself. (from a former blackberry lover)
Apple Reality Pro feature thought:
Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see SharePlay become an big part of the headset potential. Consider sending an iMessage with a SharePlay request but for VR. Perhaps an invite to watch a movie together, or play a game. The user could tap the
@AndreaCopellino
@Lunayian
Hand occlusion is done with Apple’s frameworks which provide sub 7ms latency.
It’s clear to me that Polyspatial isn’t close to ready, and Unity needs to do more work behind the scenes to increase performance.
@Alyx_V3
Fluidity of movement around the home screen, window arrangement, and eye tracking are the big ones.
Personas look 3x better and the tracking works in pitch black environments now. I can finally lay in bed at night without it constantly getting notified “lost tracking”
@ezlazar
Yeah because Mike Williams and Keenan Allen were so expensive 🙄
I guess they forgot trades exist too.
Get ready for another 4-13 or worse season folks.
@hnshah
Microsoft beat Slack because Teams ships with Windows, and the enterprise customer already uses 365 for most their business needs, which reduces the cost vs Slack.
Technical debt had nothing to do with their loss in the market.
Said it before and I’ll say it again. Meta’s competition is not Apple, but Google. Reason being is they’re willing to build a XR OS and license it with use of their Play Store.
Meta has NO ecosystem, and dog shit SDKs. They’re essentially just an incubator for their rivals.
NFL PRO ERA dev Status Pro just scored $20 million in new funding led by Google Ventures. Who wants to guess what this means for a potential release of the next game on the upcoming Samsung/Google XR headset?
The franchise also now has over 1 million users!
@AaronHillegass
Not a former worker of yours, but your Objective-C books helped me teach myself to program a decade ago and really changed the course of my life.
Sincerely, thank you.

@DylanMcD8
The next anti-trust lawsuit will be about how they made vision pro cool but meta could never do the same for quest because Apple uses private APIs🙃
@cmuratori
@Eikins_
How can a graphics engineer not understand the performance pipeline?
Pretty troubling but perhaps thats why Ubisoft games are considered some of the worst when it comes performance. I’m genuinely dumbfounded at the response.
@odanovich
@appltrack

No, they’re only able to make 400,000-500,000 this year according to the highly respected Ming Chi Kuo.
So they’re basically half way through all the headsets they’ll make for the year.
@TenaciousEth
No. When they actually ship something that changes the world for the better, then you can say that.
In Apple’s first 2 years they single handedly created the consumer PC market.
What’s Yuga actually done?
PFPs that made early adopters rich? Treasure hunts?
Bad games?
NFTs
@Azadux
It has to do with Apple charging 15%-30% premium on in-app purchases.
All the other companies listed don’t support buying their subscriptions with in-app purchases from Apple devices. Has to be done on the web.
All streaming services supporting visionOS include the IAPs.
@DMC_Ryan
@haileyx24
Everything is so fine at 343 that they laid off a significant amount of employees, and are switching to unreal engine 5 because their custom engine is terrible. Oh and Halo Infinite is basically dead after repeated delays in promised content.
@M1chl
@M1Astra
@pitdesi
Apple made the best product experience that they feel is the absolute baseline.
There’s no better company in the world at iterating over generations and making tremendous progress.
The next 4-6 years will be a awesome for the AR/VR market as a whole.
@SamuelMatson
“To be clear, developers can build apps that use real world passthrough as the background, and the headset's APIs tell them about surfaces and furniture in the user's space. But they won't get actual access to the actual camera imagery as they do on iPhone and iPad.

@jetscott
You still need to double click the shutter button on the left side to confirm the purchase on Vision Pro so your impulse safeguard is still there.
@klaytohn
Middle Child.
Also the fact that Cole produces the beats on most of his songs shows he’s more of a complete artist. Let us not forget he made HiiiPower for KDot.
Either way, I love them both and have been a fan since ‘09
@benz145
Yeah I just did a 2 hour session no problem with the dual-loop.
That Solo-Knit is a non starter for longer than 20 minutes. Wish it had an over the top strap because it would be perfect.
Hate to break the news but Apple didn’t invent the smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch either.
They just did them all so well no one cares to remember all the janky shit that came before it.
I predict that 10 years from now, when AR/VR headsets are as common as smartphones are now, people will look back and think Apple were the ones to start the category.
This is sad considering that Meta really layed the foundation with the Quest line, specifically the quest 2.
@EMostaque
Yep. The M-series architecture is the only UMA (Unified-Memory-Architecture) consumer focused platform currently available that can handle those types use cases.
@bzamayo
No charger in the box? It’s almost as if they will have a wireless charger accessory that was supposed to come out two years ago to upsell 😑. If AirPower doesn’t come out this year after this news i’ll give up ☕️ for a year.
