Indie comics asside. Take From The Ashes A New Beginning the new X-Men run, there are a ton of issue 1's but those issues 1's aren't the real 'start' of the story it's an entry point and multiple characters in the team ups also have solo runs. But for Manga volume 1 is the start and entry. No need for reboots. I also want to be sure to clarify that I agree with you, but for new readers and GA's they don't have that understanding going in. so I can understand being confused seeing Wolverine in 3 different issue 1's at the same time as a person unfamiliar with how comics work.
