@hnjohnso
And before people say it’s not fair to blame the poor grandma, we had to basically steal my grandma’s car because she refused to stop driving after causing multiple accidents and being nearly blind. She simply didn’t give a shit if she killed people, she wanted to drive to lunch.
@TString5
@BravoKiloActual
@vedbedagy
@HerbsandDirt
Exactly. Men always do this, they always think they are the exception, young at heart or so attractive or whatever. Most people want to date near their age. If he won’t date someone decades older why would he assume a woman would want to?
@realgirl_fieri
Kids are on iPads too much. If you’re at a restaurant, it makes me sad. If you can’t get through a quick target run without a toddler watching a show, that’s bad. Kids existed for a billion years without these devices and we have no idea what it will do to their brains.
@2chis1dogmom
@hnjohnso
Omg that’s so awful and not surprising!! My grandma would have a big dent in her car and have no memory of hitting anything. I think she was telling the truth, just didn’t notice or remember.
@realgirl_fieri
Independence. Fancy family lets kid walk somewhere in Manhattan? Cool vibe, love it, gossip girl. Rural/lower income suburban kid kicking it alone in the yard? Call the police.
@Corbiesnest
@hnjohnso
♥️ It was awful and she did blast through a construction zone once (everyone was yelling and waving, she thought they were just saying hi and telling her she had a cute car) but she didn’t hurt anyone. So glad it’s over!!
@CarissasNewLife
I grew up around a lot of homeschoolers. The hatred of school was unsettling, it struck me as laziness. Easier to let a kid wander around the yard than teach him math. Almost all the kids have really struggled in adulthood.
@realgirl_fieri
My hospital didn’t have a nursery. Baby never left my side. Super hard after a c section but k. I called about a $4k “nursery fee” on my bill. Apparently they refer to the plastic bassinet next to the bed as a “nursery” now. Lol. Feels like a perfect visual.
@DrJBhattacharya
I live in Seattle where it has been circulating since fall 2019 at least. When ppl pretend we could have stopped it with lockdowns they are lying, so many of us already had it by March 2020.
@anulman
@united
Babe, you chose to fly. During a pandemic. If you’re afraid, stay home. If you actually feared for your life, you would not be in a crowded airport hoping cheap Target masks will save your life. You’re faking and it’s tacky.
@clhubes
I experienced something similar recently! A preschool mom friend whose husband is a partner at a top accounting firm told me that they experience “wealth judgment” from family and friends. I was speechless. I like her so much but SOS.
@realgirl_fieri
Pick Mes/Not Like Other Girls.
Also, not sure how to put it exactly, but false intimacy types? Like you meet someone and they are just way too…familiar or something? I don’t think it makes you a bad person but I find it unsettling.
@AniseNot
Learned during two pregnancies that having a baby is very threatening to older family members who still want to be The Parents and they soothe themselves by telling you what to do in areas big and small. Resist.
@bessbell
I put my three yo daughter’s spoon in her applesauce. “NO DIPPING INSIDE ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!”
Her birthday was days ago and yesterday she was furious that I did NOT dip inside. This is gaslighting.
@sarahradz_
The man who wrote the recent viral post about four + kids being easier has also written multiple times about how his wife does absolutely everything with the kids so he can focus on his business.
@ArmandDoma
I usually never sympathize with the man but holy lord that article! “My husband had to forgive me for little oopsies like cheating, trying to leave him, spending every family dollar, etc. I had to forgive him for providing for our family and being a harder worker.” My god.
@VPrasadMDMPH
I’m seeing ppl saying “we can’t have judges overruling public health officials.” We have clearly fucked up here. Unelected MPH people have somehow become the most powerful people in the country, and that was a big mistake.
@realgirl_fieri
Maybe this is bitchy but this feels like a safe space: parents who get friendly really fast and say things like “your kid is welcome at our house anytime” and then immediately ask you to watch their kids. “Look at this warm and fuzzy community!” It feels super icky to me.
@vessvelikov
@Corbiesnest
@hnjohnso
It was awful but mercifully no one was hit! Literally the most insane thing I’ve ever heard about, there was some huge wire hanging off her car, people were screaming at her, she genuinely never noticed.
@sewistwrites
A few weeks ago my five year old was happily playing with another 5yo while I held the bb and dog. I was like ten feet away. Other kid’s mom came over, thought she wanted to chat, muttered about “babysitting” my daughter. Like…they were totally happy and safe? So weird.
@sarahradz_
Biggest regret of my life is telling people that I was having/had a scheduled c section. The amount of opinions, cruel comments, invasive questions, omg. This is good advice.
@alankel89244102
@Marky_1022
Friend who works at our enormous Seattle hospital was lamenting that they are completely overloaded. They have 38 covid patients. Not ICU. Total. If you are overloaded with 38 patients after two years to prepare, you should be publicly fired and we should all be able to boo.
@RyanNovosielski
@hnjohnso
I totally believe this. I’ve watched so many people yell at my TODDLER to “hurry the fuck up” while we are legally using crosswalks.
@Stressed_afrn
@EmmaSzewczak
It actually is an abortion, I had one in the second tri last year when the fetus died. It was literally called an abortion in my records. We need to use the term, it’s not a bad word. People need abortions for many reasons, all valid.
@realgirl_fieri
Yeah I don’t really mean like watching a movie on a plane, I mean being attached to a screen all the time. Like, cannot get through a quick target run without a tv show.
@CartoonsHateHer
I’m very lib but these types really lose me with the “social death for a tweet ten years ago” vs. “car jacking is a victimless crime.”
@milfsuki
She was so over the top mean and low key homophobic! If you’re going to mock other people like this you better be extremely hot or extremely secure.
@its_kduff
@jduffyrice
My MIL is basically a diagnosed narcissist (she told us her therapist has suggested this but of course the therapist is wrong) and this is right. She isn’t even a mean or terrible person, she just has no idea that other people have their own needs. She is all that matters.
@The_Feminist_TM
In countries that have way more support for parents women still decide to have very few children. I think in these discussions we have to acknowledge that a lot of people don’t want kids when they have the choice.
@ambernoelle
Instead of simply changing zoning rules it is definitely easier to make everyone move to towns and cities they don’t want to live in, away from their jobs, friends and family.
@TamyLien
@choo_ek
You are too worried about covid to go without a mask but not worried enough to skip a fucking nightclub? Hysterical.
Also, lol that you expect to be thanked for wearing a mask at a nightclub. This is the funniest shit I’ve ever read.
@aspiringpeasant
This is wise. Lol what actually happened was the battery died in my grandma’s car and we told her that if she was competent to drive she should be able to figure out how to fix it. She could not so it just sat dead for a year.
@clhubes
I wish I could be more relaxed about this, it’s the part of parenting that’s the hardest for me. I hate being on time and getting messages like this!
@sorkincel
Reminds me of the most annoying thing I witnessed in awhile: guy who looked like this GLARING and rolling his eyes performatively at a mom soothing a tiny baby in a coffee shop while his large Samoyed licked the treat display by the counter.
@1BrownOnTheTown
@hnjohnso
I’m so sorry for your loss. But yes it’s very hard. It would be so much less hard if the government would make it more difficult to have a drivers license! My grandma’s excuse was always “well I have my license 🤷🏼♀️”
@hpmueller242
@helloshanwolf
So strange. My MIL makes weird comments about how easy our lives are and how it won’t always be this way. Like, I genuinely feel that she is rooting for us to be less happy. It’s very unsettling.
@katefeetie
Ugh. Just complained about back pain to my doctor and she was like “have you tried holding your baby in a better way, yoga, Pilates, weight lifting, physical therapy, swimming?” Lol of course not? Sorry to hear that this works tbqh.
@clhubes
LOVE. The other day I told my kid we could get ice cream but the line was 40 people long and my baby was about to melt down. Couldn’t disappoint her. Bb started melting. A man literally played peekaboo with her for *twenty five minutes* while we waited. I’ll remember him forever.
@JeromeAdamsMD
@POTUS
I think if they don’t acknowledge the protection prior infection gives it’s hard to take them seriously. I’m happily vaccinated but if they don’t tell the truth it makes me queasy. Feels like noble lying which…is still lying.
@sewistwrites
This 100% and also the many many people who claim that they taught themselves to read at age TWO. “Actually my mom promises I was a genius.” Everyone please be serious.
@nycexpatmom
We’ve taken weddings too far. This year a friend had two bach parties (one in Mexico), a wedding shower (across the country), a local wedding and a destination wedding. Then a post honeymoon celebration. Registered for all. It’s too much. I will celebrate your marriage only once.
@clhubes
Also do these people consider that we don’t all have RUGGED children? My three year old is freezing if it’s under 45°. Not such a blast to be at the park with a kid yelling “my face is ice HELP ME” 800 times.
@CartoonsHateHer
*As our one year old crawled about the farm.* Ummmmmmmm naaahhhhhhh. I grew up partly on a farm. Babies don’t crawl around real farms. I’m sorry for this baby because this LARPing nepo baby homesteader is nuts.
@clhubes
I remember being at a coffee shop with my first baby, around six weeks old. She was asleep and I was reading a book. An old woman interrupted me and told me that I wasn’t a present parent and my child wasn’t engaged. A sleeping six week old.
@WFKARS
@flyingcamel43
@benryanwriter
@rubin_allergy
What the hell? My daughter was excluded from preschool when she was two bc she couldn’t consistently mask for over an hour. Kicked out. We also got kicked out of shops, even Costco. This was the life of a toddler parent. You’re gaslighting.
@ProLifeDem
What do you think happens when women have miscarriages? My doctor told me he was very sorry and sent me home. Do you think they like keep you at the clinic and have a funeral or something?
@KSVesq
@chrislhayes
Same scan, found out baby had died. No explanation. Needed miso because my body wouldn’t let go, but in my liberal town the pharmacist gave me a v hard time. Almost ran out without anything, could have died of an infection. These laws are ghoulish and cruel and I’m so mad today.
@Finarda

I was involved in the nonprofit world for a decade. Respectfully, a LOT of orgs are super shady and are def not needed at all. Sometimes the best thing we can do is discover the fraud and shut them down.
@neontaster
@kathygriffin
@daniela127
This is so right it hurts. Maybe instead of asking “what more can I ask of kids after ruining two years of their childhoods?” old people should start doing what they need to do to protect themselves and leaving the rest of us alone.
@JoeCassandra
I don’t mind paying for good restaurant meals but places like Panera that we take the kids once in awhile…no. It’s like $50 for two adults, a preschooler and a baby who munches on our food. Hard pass.
@kittypurrzog
My 2yo likes blue, mom at the park asked if she could be nonbinary. She was being nice, but JFC. She’s 2! She doesn’t know what gender is. She likes blue because she likes the sky and likes bulldozers because her Paw Paw is a builder. Not because she was born in the wrong body.
@lacroicsz
It’s so frustrating. Doctors should be more forthcoming about ALL hormone effects. I’m a cis woman who was put on a new birth control about ten years ago and it destroyed my physical and mental health, after my doctor told me repeatedly there were basically no risks.
@helaineolen
@michelleinbklyn
Yes, it’s amazing. It also knows if you’re drinking coffee and leaves you alone. Or if you’re Gavin Newsom traveling recreationally. Or the mayor of Chicago getting a hair cut. It’s super clever.
@BravoKiloActual
@vedbedagy
@HerbsandDirt
This is the problem. You’re almost fifty and trying to date women in their early thirties. That’s not what people my age want. Try setting your age range around your own age!
@helaineolen
@Noahpinion
Yep. Telling people they are heroes for staying home and watching Netflix without acknowledging that there is an entire lower class working around the clock to make their solitude possible.
@ChrysCymri
@james_e_b_
Same. I still believe in live and let live regarding abortion, marriage, etc., but I’m realizing that giving the government much power is a much scarier prospect than I once thought.
@jessesingal
According to this, my three year old, who seems perfectly comfortable with her body, calls herself a girl, etc., is a boy because she likes “boy colors” and doesn’t like dolls. This isn’t the progressive move they think it is.
@FutbolPete717
@chrislhayes
This this this. We had a one yo when we adopted and we are not outdoorsy or hikers. We wanted a snuggler. Got a five yo basset hound mix. Laziest dog in the world, absolutely adores our daughter. It’s easy to get excited about a dog, make sure the breed suits you!
@BusinessmanLego

My first thought. “Honey I’d love to get up with the bb in the middle of the night but, you know, I’m recovering from surgery.”
@RottenInDenmark

@kattenbarge
Weird that this just doesn’t matter. I have so many feminists in my life who joke about this trial, how crazy she is, blah blah blah. As a woman (like most) who has experienced abuse by a drunk man, I will never understand how so many women have turned on her.
@emilykmay
Yep. I had a c section last month and then got super sick and so did my newborn. Still have to nurse every two hours and take care of my toddler. Maybe this is considered “taking it easy” but it doesn’t feel easy to me!
@FiercelyFitbyG
And Gavin Newsom wouldn’t send his kids to school, people would not attend large indoor gatherings, the Atlanta mayor would not be constantly photographed breaking covid rules. There is no real fear from the elites. We have to remember when they tell us to be afraid.
@hannah_recht
@chrislhayes
This terrifies me. I had a missed miscarriage discovered around 14 weeks and had a bad infection. Doctor was so kind and offered me about six options for treatment. I was better almost immediately and able to go be with my toddler. Everyone deserves that.
