When I spend time in Ireland, the accent starts to creep in -- currently now in London, I'm consciously trying not to sound British. Sometimes, when back in NJ, I allow the old Jersey accent to return, but ditch it when home in PA, as it doesn't fit in (and feels awkward).
Most people do this. Growing up, I could tell who my mom was talking to on the phone based on how she was speaking to the other person.
I live on the west coast now. But when I go home to Kentucky I assimilate. It’s just more comfortable.

I think another consideration for litigation are cable companies, arguing contributory negligence. I grant it is a long shot, but it might lead to some channels — which pay per user fees to FNC, OANN and Newsmax — facing a threat of being dropped if they don’t clean up their act.
