This is an irresponsible restriction on journalism. Thes emails are crucial to demonstrating the relationship between Deutsch Bank and its liabilities. Additionally, the emails were used with permission of the estate of one of the parties to them, making them fair to use.

The *Ex-President* does not outrank a judge, especially in a case which he is the defendant. Trump has no more and no less rights than anyone else. The Judge is squarely in his lane. You may want to read a book or something, as your lack of education in this matter is appalling.
@murphymike
Even though this is a joke, the WSJ editorial and what we’re seeing on Fox News essentially confirms Rupert is cutting Trump loose. If Trump escapes prison and buys OANN, expect Rupert to bury Trump in revealing his scandals.
@mattyglesias
I cannot believe how whiny the WH press corp is being about not getting into the wedding. I think it is incumbent on Parker to illustrate other times the Biden Admin has lied -- otherwise, this is just lame.
@RadioFreeTom
Cut Tom a break. He’s making points on whether the DNC will resonate, not starting debates on various issue. I disagree with him on some, agree on others. Those debates are for a time when we have a government that is not corrupt, insane and immoral. Electing Biden starts that.
@WalshFreedom
It wasn't Bragg filing the charges. It was NYPD -- get your facts straight, Joe. Bragg's office hasn't taken any action or made a charging decision.

People keep telling me no. I'm one of the 2.6 million votes in Pa. that these folks keep trying to claim were illegal, but have no claim, and there's no chance of a class-action suit.
And this is the point: zero tolerance for crooks in either party. Most Democrats think Menendez is guilty and should face the consequences. We may not celebrate if he is convicted, but shrug sadly and note that justice has been served.

It’s time to accept Facebook is only interested in disruption and revenue. Repeal Section 230 — make FB legally responsible for its content. Additionally, make FB pay content creators for excerpts. That will solve the problem.

The D-trip has always been about incumbent protection, not growing the party. It’s poorly run, wastes money and is useless to most challengers.

This is actually the plan laid out last week, if you think they added stuff, you're not paying attention. The population density comment might be the stupidest in the history of Twitter — higher density: higher likely community spread. Wolf's not keeping you locked up, a virus is
Remember folks, when Republicans call someone a “Communist” its basically the same as an eight-year old calling someone a “poophead.” It is not based on anything other than juvenile name calling. (Edited to fix typo).
@TheRickWilson
I was lucky enough to get to know Father Mychal when he served a Parrish in my hometown and I was a young newspaper reporter. A fine man, deeply missed.
As the father of 21 going on 22 year old twins — male and female — this is exactly how I feel. I literally could not have put it better. Brilliant and dead on.
When I spend time in Ireland, the accent starts to creep in -- currently now in London, I'm consciously trying not to sound British. Sometimes, when back in NJ, I allow the old Jersey accent to return, but ditch it when home in PA, as it doesn't fit in (and feels awkward).
Most people do this. Growing up, I could tell who my mom was talking to on the phone based on how she was speaking to the other person.
I live on the west coast now. But when I go home to Kentucky I assimilate. It’s just more comfortable.
This isn’t a federal case. But it’s pretty Trumpy and hilarious. So I thought I’d flag it since it’s got almost no attention. This ad from Trumps “Preserve America” PAC is on constant play in Michigan. It has the testimony of “Julie Willoughby RN”, who tells viewers that …
@RonFilipkowski
You know, I think half the people in this thread are WORSE than the “lets go Brandon” people. Brandon Brown is a great story in racing — winning a race with a tiny, family owned team. He had nothing to do with the creation of the meme and doesn’t deserve abuse.
@cmclymer
This reminds me of when I ran for PA legislature in 2004. I made two things clear: I’m straight and happily married (and still am to the same woman) and I don’t feel the need to tell anyone else who or whether to marry (I supported civil unions but argued marriage was fine, too).
@RadioFreeTom
It’s starting, albeit too slowly for my taste. I think we can start taking bets on which GOP types start claiming “I never really supported Trump” first.
@lauferlaw
I’ve figured since 2016 Russian money funded Trump, seems obvious. What I wonder is how many GOP officials got Russian money, wittingly or unwittingly, and found themselves compromised. It would explain a lot.

You are aware that the GOP has blocked virtually every Dem bill from moving out of committee — including legalization bills — right? There have been multiple attempts on MJ — all shot down by the GOP. What plan do you have to fix this that they’re not executing?

For what it is worth, I turn 59 in 10 days and have been known to trip like that. Im active and do martial arts — to me the only worry is if he breaks something, as older people have more brittle bones (thank God he loves ice cream — lots of calcium for stronger bones).
But flying, shoulder to shoulder, with unvaccinated people is just fine. I hate to say it, but the CDC has lost its way and needs to be reworked. The risk level, while not zero, is safer than a movie theater, a mall or supermarket (let alone an airliner).

Tom, you're engaging Twitter in an Apples/Oranges fight. Yes, in any number of ways, things are better. But not in every way, and often in ways that disproportionally hurt certain groups/demographics. I know you know the history of the 1850s and can at least hear some echoes now.
@ScottMStedman
Gotta to agree with Brennan, and I assume he knows what he’s speaking about. History will always ask whether Trump was legitimately elected. I suspect to this day he was not.

I’m guessing Deutsche Bank threatened litigation against Twitter and Twitter caved. I’m just a small local news site owner, but I’d probably hang fire and run it, along with the links. Can’t Scott link the items in his story, rather than on the Twitter post as a workaround?
@Angry_Staffer
Sources close to Harold Stassen say he also plans to announce a run for President next week. Despite his being dead for a number of decades, party insiders say they see Stassen as able to run in the “Old School GOP” lane and could be a formidable opponent for Donald Trump.😎

How could DOJ bring this case without the meta data and chain of custody argument being resolved? This is pretty basic stuff — and it seems like both the FBI and DOJ have been very sloppy./1
@BillKristol
Probably the biggest challenge will be waiting out the last, violent, messy embers of the Trump era to play out — and the remnants of the GOP to rock bottom. Looking forward to reasoned, sincere debate on economic theory again, instead of the insanity of late.

How would Kenney do that? We have a problem in PA with straw purchases and guns sold at constant gun shows — no background checks, no way to trace these guns. In this most recent case, I’d bet all his purchases were legal in PA, which means Kenney literally could do nothing.

Speaking for Chester County, a place where, you know voters actually live — people are pretty deeply against fracking. They hate the pipelines, the concern that Energy Partners/Sunoco will screw up again and a neighborhood will explode. So, no, pro-fracking is not a win.

Um, what really is going to work with 65K dead and a destroyed economy? GOP ought to be in triage mode, figuring what they can save, rather than indulging this crap.

Wow. What a stupid take. A lot of what took down Clinton in 2016 was arrogance -- they literally felt they could not lose and did not take things seriously in states like Pa. Make no mistake, Biden's team is laser-focused on these states and not taking them for granted./1

It seems likely that the Mets are in violation of MLB’s debt ratio limits and as such, it should step in and take over the team, much as happened with the Dodgers. It’s clear that without MLB intervention, the Wilpons will end up crashing the franchise.

I have to say, this is the least PennDOT thing ever. I'm amazed at seeing how quickly they have the "bricks" stacking up. It was a brilliant idea.

Interestingly, not one person addressed the issue of battery disposal. Lithium Ion batteries contain a lot of toxic materials which will end up in landfills and potentially contaminate groundwater. While EVs show promise, they are not the panacea some claim.
@TheRickWilson
Undoubtedly, he'll be outed by Twitter and face employment consequences. He probably shouldn't -- America means even the stupidest of us get to express their opinions, no matter how profane or misguided.

Pretty sure this is another beltway take that is off the mark. Pelosi knows she has leverage — Trump needs the stimulus badly and the economy is going to a factor of magnitude worse. Pelosi can smile and wait. Without transparency and a mail funding/security deal, it’s dead.
@michellebosso
@thehill
Under law, libel and slander are not protected speech — you have liability for either. So, you have the right to say it, but have to be prepared to face the consequences. Fetterman is arguing the lie about PA is akin to yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater, which is illegal.
@ScottMStedman
@forensicnewsnet
I wonder if the people doing this understand that such attacks make your reporting more credible, not less? And yeah, you’re going to need better hosting if you’re going to keep on breaking stories like this. As a fellow journalist/site op I understand your frustration right now.
@soledadobrien
It’s terrible reporting, but par for the course, which is literally the cancer of political reporting (and metastasizing, i.e., Axios, Punchbowl). Using the gender card is weak — don’t much care which set of genitals you have, just do your job right.
@lawfareblog
I think another consideration for litigation are cable companies, arguing contributory negligence. I grant it is a long shot, but it might lead to some channels — which pay per user fees to FNC, OANN and Newsmax — facing a threat of being dropped if they don’t clean up their act.
