@UnionistCentri1 HM Treasury rules are clear…you can’t take capital budget (things) & transfer to services (people). When UK gov sponsored Casement as part of the UK/Ireland bid it was effectively underwriting the project. be clear, this is the outgoing UK gov failing to deliver its ‘guarantee’

In 2019 there was a PM called Theresa May who’s own love of preserving the Union surpassed the DUP But instead of embracing her devotion, DUPs need to stick it to the EU with a hardline Brexit was the prize at that time. Oh dear. Talk about shortsighted

In January 2019 we elected these 8 DUP MPs. Now we are told the union is under the greatest threat it has ever been, that we are semi detached from the UK. What did they do wrong? Did we choose the wrong unionist party?

Did Rory realise he was talking out loud? Sometimes you need to know when to quit… attempting to compare real life meaningful events to the elitist world of golf which celebrates obscene amounts of money & is inaccessible to most people. Seriously?

Rory says golf is split & needs a peace deal like the Good Friday Agreement: ⛳️ “Catholics weren't happy, Protestants weren't happy, but it brought peace and then you just sort of learn to live with whatever has been negotiated, right?" ⛳️

@cellah26bsky Absolutely. There’s nothing to celebrate here. UK changed the design/build specification of Casement Park then cynically passed responsibility for delivery to DUP minister Gordon Lyons at Dept of Communities. Again, dependency on UK government who ultimately didn’t care.

If this logic follows through it means you can’t be a nurse & have a political opinion. Or you can’t be a public servant and have a political opinion? How’s about…. Sammy Wilson was still a teacher when he first got elected.

This is so illustrative of historical unionist thinking Basically saying you can’t *really* be a nurse & also a Republican- which is of course absolute nonsense It shows why unionism is a shrinking cohort & reflects the type of attitudes that used to run everything in the north
