Like I said I have done this but it's definitely not as logical as it seems. I have had students who did the work (know it for sure) but couldn't talk about it. Many are proficient in writing and reading but speaking is not that straightforward

It's very difficult for me to imagine an adult (let alone a fellow privileged academic) sincerely ask for support like this. What I do know is that if it was made all better with a few emojis it was not a real problem.
I won't lie, today was difficult.

Yes I am. Have been teaching philosophy for over twenty years and at this point when it comes to non native speaker I no longer have that certainty. I used to. Partly because I wasn't a native speaker and projected my ability to do that onto others. It's not a given.
