USians need to accept that fascism is not coming via a faketan dictator but via the systems & institutions built by enslavers revered as ‘founding fathers’. The state has always been a fascistic settler colony & ‘progression’ has been to this very point. It’s working as intended.

Acts of theft and erasure in academia and public writing are frequent, racialized and gendered. Some are tiny and everyday. Others are blatant and high stakes. The only recourse we have is to keep collectively naming what is happening. I wish more colleagues understood this.

"Anybody who thinks that they can modify what they’re doing and be safe is deeply mistaken, because authoritarianism is never about creating conditions for anybody to be safe. It’s about making everybody feel insecure.” Thanks to @meganzahneis

We need new language. I’ve myself used the word ‘barbaric’ to describe zionism’s genocidal violence. But this word is half of the west’s civilized/barbaric binary which we must utterly reject. Along with all its eugenics, teleologies and death-driven ideologies.

They have done this since their East India Company, their Virginia Company, since all the money flowed from Caribbean plantations. The British are global historical thieves and looters.

So Yemen isn't actually stopping shipping in the red sea as long as it isn't headed for Israel, insurers are. The largest/most famous insurance market is Lloyds of London. The UK is preparing to go to war on behalf of Lloyds of London

@MsSylviaSanders I think that, as with reporting other forms of abuse, power dynamics are set up to protect privileged perpetrators. Often the evidence is not deemed sufficient. It would be ideal if we could shift the culture towards preventing this seemingly ubiquitous culture of appropriation.

Now we make clear: what is it that connects Houston, Haiti, Jamaica, the Grenadines? Borders evaporate when we look at who and what is abandoned and why. Racial capitalism, anti-blackness, anti-Indigeneity, ecocide. These are the vectors.

AMONG BLACK FOLKS, on the occasion of being invited to an event, a common question is, “Who gone be there?” …If the answer is that that…too few) Black folks, or if other people in attendance are hostile to our existence, the answer about our presence is often a resounding “no.”

Seeing this list of names as the Caribbean, source of Black Radical thought, is pummeled by climate emergency, and as multiple genocides are enacted, is enraging. But it also lifts the veil from industries of knowledge that are part of the same systems of domination ☠️
