all jokes and opinions are entirely my own and do not reflect the truth or are based in real events.

- to my family: don’t read this.
- to my friends: you’re welcome. 😂
i’ve always been curious about how people design these inside of companies like Apple.
do they start with Figma designs, then move into After Effects? do they have storyboards? do they mock all the intricacies of the interactions, all the states, all the possibilities?
and how
The new project I designed arrives today - the Dynamic Island.
Its goal is to feel like a living, elastic bubble that can fluidly shape shift into different alerts and experiences.
This is just the start, but I’m excited to see it begin its life!

yes, on by default.
you can opt-out, but you know what that implies... any new accs are automatically gonna have it on.
and since it’s all data in their servers, we can’t actually verify if that boolean is working or not :)
i mean... great job on whoever’s responsible for the set/photography/wardrobe.
plants, cozy environment, few people, warm lights, casual attire — all playing a role to keep us cozy, and making this announcement feel more... “human”. 😉
Some ads I made for a Zine that never launched:
The above features the Balance Wallet, a project by
@ricburton
, and the CPG project.
Some of the copy was written by me, some was written by the guy who had the idea for the Zine.
The two above are for
@manifoldxyz
, and the Tom

yes, I’d love to have the number, and have “hug” on hover, or some other indication of “hug”... don’t know where to look to check the size of something quickly
@linusrogge
i agree with you, and i have a hypothesis as to why this happens:
1. it’s hard to train junior people... it’s a lot of time to invest, and a lot of companies don’t have that:
- startups move too fast (they hire 1 designer to handle it all, so if they hire a jr, that’s slowing
we might not have much cultural sync anymore, because of algorithms.
but earthly events like the eclipse and the aurora still have people sync up across the world.
that’s really fun.
i wish i had these many resources when i started my career... information overload ⚡️
there are too many great people sharing their work, and what they do, and lots of channels distributing this work!

@Airbnb
Took awhile, but Airbnb paid for our stay at hotel nearby.
We were on the phone for ~2h. It was around 9-10pm by the time we checked in.
Very stressful evening. But that was 4 years ago.
Hope you can resolve your issue.
whenever I have the urge to reply to some outrageous tweet, I type out my response, and then delete it.
it’s a great exercise to just get it out of you, but in a quiet, private way, and not dump more negativity into the world 😌

@CapacitiesHQ
not a capacities user, but I’ve considered it a couple of times, and not being offline-first was one of the things that made me not choose it, along with tana, and some others…
very glad to see you going in this direction, wish more people would follow in this industry!
@sketch
would love to see that! 😍
and more granular controls for “smart layout” (similar to flex-box or grid on the web).
those are the 2 main features I miss in
@sketch
.
you have no idea how happy i am that i found my yosemite RAW files from 2017
the rock in the background is faded because there was a huge wildfire happening that day
Enjoying our big Smart Layout update? Curious about how we brought it to life? We asked Product Manager Paulo and Mac Developer Torsten to walk us through it. Read part 1 of their ‘Behind the feature’ series here 👇
@cjpux_
if you have appropriately cut media for the poster’s proportion, then left.
otherwise, right.
media > design.
it would annoy me to watch a video that was made for landscape viewing in portrait mode like that… even if the design is gorgeous.
too many cuts.
rant time
i hate it when people just say “hey” and leave it at that, like they expect to have that “how are you” small talk before they ask you for something.
just ask.
it’s not rude to ask.
what’s rude is to keep the other person wondering wtf you want from them.
every once in awhile I think of

then there was the whole health situation, she got a kidney transplant, and was looking up, despite adversities.
not sure how
what’s the best way to send newsletters today? aside from substack, of course.
what are the cool kids using these days? 👀
(pls don’t mention mailchimp)
@raphaelsalaja
drawing, making music, reading, writing, watching videos, portable second monitor
that’s why I sold mine… ended up not using any of that, I found out
