Ultimately people who post things like that feel like they don't have anything to really believe in imo. What they fail to realize is that the only thing those men in those photos really believed in was living to see another day.

It's controversial because you're making a non-marxist point about the relationship of labor to capital. Sure you can say that their lives are very different from people in the global south but that's true of most Americans.

If the speed of freight movement is contributing to higher rates of injury I think that's a big problem, personally. A lot of jobs could be done faster but are paced with safety in mind.

My grandpa didn't see combat. That meant he was happy to talk about his experiences, including the emotional weight of wartime. He was very grateful that the war ended before he was sent to the front.
