@mbateman
we did this too from age 4. messages, camera and exactly one pixel art app we vetted.
its great, it really helped his spelling and i sometimes get texts like this
@fetacheesepls
@laisseztakes
why would you pay double just cause it developed in some rocks?
do you not like having money? to spend on nice things? or more diamonds, even?
btw second hand diamonds are increasingly lab-made these days. not all of them are inscripted, you'd have to send it off for testing.
@SwannMarcus89
the staff don’t like them either
guy i was at school with went to prison for repeatedly molesting a 5yo
when he overdosed it took medics 30 minutes to reach his cell, in what the resultant inquiry called a “staff failure”
@ItsRaininAshley
@guy_freire
My very divorced 53yo dad has a similar idea. Reckons he’s on the incel spectrum because he can’t get childless 20-somethings to date him. He can date older women or women with kids, and was with my mum for 20 years, but is “incel” for childless <30yo women
We don’t talk lmao
@BlkNtvTerraFFVI
@Kaija_Rayne
It’s only something a child can offer, not something a parent can expect. Like all love.
Your children will help you in your old age because you’ve raised them to be considerate people who love you and don’t want people they love to suffer, NOT because they owe you anything.
@RizomaSchool
Had a parent reach out to me trying to hire me as a maths tutor for their 11 year old
She said she hadn’t taught her anything beyond counting, and asked if I could focus my lessons on “encouraging interest in numbers” 😬 and suggested I play counting/adding games
I said no
@raggedmanes
@Dernhelm05
Given the wife started out how he liked, there’s no reason why it won’t repeat. My money is on her having the housework/babycare + working a job combo that shreds women’s easygoing natures
If he marries/has a baby with his mistress, he’ll find she gets a lot less spontaneous too
@aardvarkwizard
I was gaslight as a teenager.
Got to the point where I clearly witnessed an assault but told police I “wasn’t sure” what I saw cause I didn’t trust my own perception of things
There’s no “real” word for it now and if I confide in someone they think I mean I was just lied to :/
@sapphyreblayze
I remember when it was in the Daily Mail that they “investigated” how teenagers can get the morning after pill from pharmacies without their parents. They had kids go “undercover” to “prove” it
Like why would you have a problem with that? Girls have been murdered for less?
@punished_cait
If you want the real answer, he takes out personal loans if he wants cash. Taking out a loan isn’t taxed. He’s got billions in outstanding loans but his tesla stock means he’s good for it
He’ll only pay taxes if/when he sells his tesla stock
@iwantobehigh
@MeganBitchell
U can do you own pixel art for your town flag. U can use also qr codes to help make said pixel art.
This guy reckons he has her pixel art titties as his town flag using her qr code
@ValueConfusion
@BigTucsonDad
i used to carry my son in a sling when on walks/doing housework
he’d hold onto my clothes for hours. if i had my hair down, he used to grip it really hard. obviously the sling supported him fully, but it felt a bit like he had a reflex to “cling on” like this:
@GreenTextRepost
If we did this at McDonald’s sometimes the parents complained
Once we had a wait time on small burgers so put a larger patty in a kids cheeseburger to not hold up the drive thru. Lady parked her car and came in to yell at us for making her sons lunch too big
@elioandoliverse
@sakcore18
yes this is true
but theres also a large number of potentially-independent women who cohabit with men who have constant affairs, are controlling or are shitty to their kids, because they don’t want the downgrade in lifestyle that comes with being single
@thunderxstorm07
@virgify
idk, acting careers are really unstable, and there’s no indication her Netflix contract is for much more than the SAG minimums
let her take kims money
@CritonyENT
@Pinko69420
Yep, when we had a leak/mould issue our landlord apparently couldn’t afford to fix it. When I pointed out how we’d paid X in rent over the last couple of years, he said he “needed it for the mortgage” 🤡
So we moved out and he didn’t get his mortgage paid at all, lmao
@GordonFreemanGo
@beetlechocolate
@Dr_Yield_Curve
If people move to the city to live but not work in it, they contribute to pricing locals out of the rent/housing market. If they have high incomes, they cause gentrification and local inflation. If they’re American, their taxes may go to the America gov., not the Mexican gov.

He was her foster child! She was literally being paid by the state to provide an emotionally secure base for a traumatised teenager

yeah she did say just that, but she's had psychological problems for years - including believing she's magic & can travel between dimensions - so you can't really take what she says at any one time at face value.
also, she tried DIY SRS (causing serious injury). she's very ill.
@SVVAYED
@ianjhurst
In the books he’s shit at most of his schoolwork. He only gets by because Hermione helps him. The only things he’s good at are quidditch and one mid-tier fighting spell. Given his background he’s a bit of an academic disappointment
They leave this out the movies for some reason
@yungtyranny
a lot of catholics internationally have the view of "abortion is bad but the woman shouldn't go to prison", especially if early. american catholics are the weird ones on this

Not over the thought experiment, but over the "Rococo's Basilisk" play-on-words.
They both like AI and ornamental architecture, apparently. Musk tweeted "Rococo's Basilisk", when ppl commented that Grimes made the same play-on-words years previously.

This might be from before they were born, or when they were toddlers. They’re 13-19 years younger, and in this pic the 3 oldest sisters are visibly still teenagers.

For some Europeans, eating fresh home-cooked food with loads of vegetables is standard, and “eating healthy” would be cutting out salt or oil or carbs, or reducing calories, to meet some relevant health goal (eg. weight loss, reducing blood pressure)
@PaulSkallas
i grew up in a suburb unironically like this. there were small playparks dotted about everywhere and no-one lived more than a 10-minute walk from a big one. nature areas too. fruit trees lining the footpaths/bike trails. wasn’t even that expensive. no clue why its not more common
@garfgf
@RaxKingIsDead
aye but i reckon they could pawn it to fund a hospital or two and replace it with any other nice antique chair. its not actually that historical, its only 19th century, it was just designed to look old & based on the coronation chair
something like these could do just fine imo
@sapphyreblayze
Also when I did get a morning after pill from a pharmacy as a teenager once, they had me sit in a private room for a safeguarding interview. They were obviously checking if it was a boy my own age and if it was consensual, but were very kind & chill, framing it as a casual chat
@phoebespo
GROSS WARNING —
this stuff usually gives u diarrhoea and, sometimes, temporary incontinence/ leakage :/
like it makes ur poop really greasy/oily because the fat in it hasn’t been absorbed, and our bowels aren’t good at holding onto it for long when it’s greasy 🤢
@RizomaSchool
I’d be very happy to help an incredibly late child learn but I’d be wanting to spend an hour+ each day with their nose to the grindstone trying to get as many concepts through as I could before puberty decimated their brain plasticity :/
@kd_data
@plemy11
They are. But it’s also:
Pelvis tilted, diaphragm up, core engaged, one foot in front of the other, arms crocked, hands on lower hips
Versus pelvis forward, diaphragm down, core relaxed, feet together, arms relaxed.
@andeholmes

thats just her good genetics
you're confusing what naturally good hair looks like with what hair products do. her hair looks nice overall despite whatever she's put in it cause she has great genes, but her products look ineffective
@kanakovich
@blkheaert
In the 30s soft arms/legs were considered desirable. Notice the attention on the model’s leg in the ad.
eg. 1936’s Gone with the Wind’s Scarlett O’Hara lamented how she wasn’t allowed to show off her “plump” legs in public.
@songofalchemy
@Duderichy
Used to mean get all the cooking/cleaning out the way when husband is at work so you just do fun stuff in the evenings/weekends and he does zero housework ever
But with dishwashers and washing machines, housework these days takes 1-2 hours/day tops, so it’s not quite the same
@t1nydeer174571

Some polyamory situations let the women be with other men too, I think a harem implies he has a lot of women but the women have to be exclusively his
@UpperLowerClass
As a slightly autistic woman w/ trust issues if anyone says “all men are dogs, don’t risk befriending a rapist, never date them or give them ur time”, every time I’m like, “holy shit you’re right”
Until 5s later I remember I’m happily married w/ many good male friends lmao
@taylurk

As a European:
- Stainless, not white, fridge
- griddle on stovetop
- stovetop has zero rust/flaking
- white subway tiling
- pale stone worktop (if it’s fake I can’t see bubbling)
- loads of appliances
- it’s HUGE
Americans don’t know how wealthy they are

i visited as a 15yo girl!
1) i dressed v modestly despite the heat to avoid stares (it only partially helped)
2) i was constantly harassed by salesmen with trinkets and children in rags
3) someone stole the sunglasses off the top of my head
4) it smelt soooo bad
5) huge rats
@RoeGraceM
my mother and siblings and I used to walk around naked except for underpants and I didn’t know that was unusual til I was like 16
like do these people never feel warm in their own house?
@MariaEyre1873
@RizomaSchool
In my experience the games/fun leading to interest approach works for like, 3-6 year olds
You can’t trick an 11 year old into choosing to learn fractions or algebra because you played numberline leapfrog :/
@d_a_zeck
My son didn't make much developmental progress between age 2, when I went back to work, throughout the whole time he was at preschool.
Then, lockdown plus my mother-in-law retiring meant he had 1-to-1 care instead of preschool, and within a year he was developmentally ahead :/
@AdmiralCrunchy
@MKUltraGoth
but sex always has a risk of pregnancy - even with contraception - and every man who engages in casual sex has to be cognisant of the risk of the woman both becoming pregnant and not wanting an abortion. if that risk isn't okay for you, you need to remain abstinent until it is.
@JackRedelfs

Most men weren't warriors tho
Unless there was tribal warfare or some shit, a lot of men would have got their food/income from persistence hunting, which skinny guys excel at
@emergenteffects
@JRFBoy
i've also seen a lot of people's main criticisms of churchill be that he, a man born in 1874, supported the Empire and used racial slurs.
makes me think a lot of the noise of the last few days was from teenagers who don't actually know a lot about history
@mil0boi
@Jilleebaby
there are a lot of downsides. most intersex people are infertile and many can’t have sex normally.
also a lot get operated on as babies, but as adults they can wish they weren’t
@rottncals
@lotusluver_
Yes, some anorexic patients can be permanently infertile even years after recovery, the chances are worse if you were a v low BMI or your ED was for multiple years
Same as how sometimes your heart/bones can just never recover, so can your ovaries
@Bigugandanchun1
@SocDoneLeft
She’s been on hormones enough that it likely doesn’t function like a normal male penis anymore. But yeah.
A lot of MtF trans women don’t have their penises removed because the surgeries are painful, expensive and have a high chance of side effects & complications.

@thicctatorx
@yugopnik
I don’t like it tbh, it’s a chore, if you’re overcharging by 50p I’m gonna just let you have the 50p so I don’t have to bother haggling.
If you’re overcharging by £50, that’s a different matter, but it’s literally not worth my time to haggle over pennies for street food lmao

@CsabaSzekely7
@TerribleMaps
No, just that both are “Oceanic” climates.
Means that they’ve got a relatively narrow temperature range, decent rainfall but few extreme weather events, and cool summers and warm winters - for their latitude!
The specific values of what counts as “Oceanic” is latitude dependent
@mirubunnie
Acrylamide is a component of burnt pizza crust, and the burnt flour dust that pizzas sometimes have on the crust/bottom.
All burnt bread/potatoes/etc contains acrylamide, which is carcinogenic. It’s completely natural and nothing to be scared of, just avoid the burnt bits.
@DoomScroling
@ask_aubry
Even if he’s thinking selfishly, it’s so much better for you if you have a girl tell her friends
“I had a bad night but X was nice, he gave me sweats and a lift home”.
Versus the “X wouldn’t even lend me a proper blanket” that she’s going to vent to everyone about on Monday
@Gogomana4
@Sulkalmakh
A lot of it is kids growing up with soft food, leading to chronic jaw underdevelopment.
It’s still for the best, as it prevents young children from choking, but at the cost of us all having more feminine jaws. That then leads to teeth overcrowding and us requiring orthodontistry
@BartFargo1
@shaun_vids
its to prevent overdose & fentanyl contamination, and to help wean off of crack safely.
going cold-turkey is difficult & often doesn't work, and continuing to use street crack through DIY weaning is a needless health risk.
giving people methadone works :) so why not crack?

in general yes, but the bright pink stuff she's using is likely too abrasive and corrosive.
prioritising tiktok aesthetics over gravestone integrity isn't good. you should use water, soft brushes and cotton buds. you just want to remove the mud and moss, not bleach the stone.
@DannyLikesMusi1
@ChillStableGuy
I feel a lot of ppl would be able to say “pop” or “rap” or “EDM”
But most people I know would stand there for a while before saying something like “uh, I guess a mix of kinda alternative, like, indie stuff from the 2010s? And a bit of, uh, what genre would you call Radiohead?”

Women with lower sex drives do initiate, but usually if they haven’t had sex for like 2-4 weeks.
If he’s never gone a couple weeks without initiating, she’s never going to feel horny enough to initiate.
@upzone_CA
Mostly healthy 20ish year olds? Who are aware how much caffeine they’re drinking?
Old people and kids both love lemonade and are bad at reading labels. Neither a 60yo or a 12yo should be chugging two celsiuses.

closed off to young professional newcomers. you pretty much have to be born in the area or have some other strong tie to the place, and also have dependents you cant afford to house privately
you cant just rock up and say "i'm poor, give me a cheap flat please"

Depends on the area

It can be 13 depending on the shelter. And 15 is still is very young to be at a mens homeless shelter unaccompanied.
Most shelters won't even accept a 15 year old as they've got too much safeguarding liability & can't protect them from other occupants.
@jew_AndAhalfMen
sometimes patients hear “you're not going to get better unless you will yourself to go for walks, make friends, do your breathing exercises, take your meds, stop drinking, and stop cutting yourself”
And then take that to mean being told “you’re never getting better”
@XcuseMyFro

Also, on a day-to-day basis, the constant venting and/or fishing for affirmations “am I fat? I’m so fat” or “I’m never going to get a girl/boyfriend I hate myself” etc is really annoying

@cyclomythic
Disinterest in a specific person is normally not a big deal
But in the specific case of a new wife, likely anxious to be accepted by her new family, not having any attention at all from the patriarch for years has gotta hurt
A good leader makes sure new members feel welcome 🥲
@d_a_zeck
Preschool is better than a child watching TV for 10 hours a day. The worst kids are those stuck at home with no stimulation or socialisation. But I'm convinced quality home care is much better than what any preschool can offer.
