i grew up in a suburb unironically like this. there were small playparks dotted about everywhere and no-one lived more than a 10-minute walk from a big one. nature areas too. fruit trees lining the footpaths/bike trails. wasn’t even that expensive. no clue why its not more common

My son didn't make much developmental progress between age 2, when I went back to work, throughout the whole time he was at preschool.
Then, lockdown plus my mother-in-law retiring meant he had 1-to-1 care instead of preschool, and within a year he was developmentally ahead :/

Acrylamide is a component of burnt pizza crust, and the burnt flour dust that pizzas sometimes have on the crust/bottom.

Preschool is better than a child watching TV for 10 hours a day. The worst kids are those stuck at home with no stimulation or socialisation. But I'm convinced quality home care is much better than what any preschool can offer.
