It was always called दक्षिणपथ later दख्खन & eventually Deccan in English.
But Chalukyas & Rashtrakutas are not Rajput but purely Maratha clans. Rajputs have no relation to these 2 clans.
The term 'Rajput' was not defined as a caste before 1000 AD. Chauvinistic sources also don't refer them as Vedic Kshatriyas.
