It is absolutely heartbreaking that in 2024, a court system is deciding on emergency healthcare for women. Not medical professionals, not women, but “legal scholars” who shouldn’t even be considered qualified to determine anyone’s right to proper medical care.
Tomorrow, the Supreme Court will begin hearing oral arguments for Idaho vs The United States.
This case is regarding EMTALA, a federal which requires hospitals to provide emergency care to patients, which includes abortions when necessary. Idaho wants to be able to deny such

I had an ectopic.
It was brutal, painful and required surgery, and I’m lucky that it happened 16 years ago because if it happened today, I could be infertile…or dead.
There is no excuse to risk a woman’s life for a potential one.
A TX woman was denied an abortion for an ectopic pregnancy & was sent home due to the unethical abortion ban.
She later went to a different hospital where she recieved care ONLY after her fallopian tube began to rupture.
No one should have to be at death's door to recieve care.
