In my experience elevation at the tropics has better weather as it’s not humid, overly hot or cold all year. It’s even nicer if you’re in places that don’t have much of a rainy season.
My experience of the Mediterranean in fall and winter is colder then ideal as well as lacking
Wrong the problem with somewhere like Florida is that it’s a tropical climate which is annoying and miserable. True greatness lies in the Mediterranean, which only exists outside of the actual Mediterranean in coastal California.

I think there are huge number of options to pursue. Generally the higher the fruits metabolism the greater the rate of photosynthesis and the higher the amount of sugar the plant has to utilize. Some of that excess sugar goes to the fruit as well enhancing microbe relationships..

I think Tamarillo or tree tomato is an underrated fruit. Hard to describe it’s flavor other than bitter and sweet with a hint of tomato. If I eat a few at a time I often get a bit of a buzz from it.

Wildly available flavored coconut oil or tallow chips would be a game changer! If we grow food in a healthier way it seems there are large improvements to flavor. So maybe if you grow the ultimate potato you could have the best tasting chips or fries ever!

While I like a good Mamey Sapote I think it is a little misleading to say Ray Peat disavowed avocado when he is quoted as saying "But for ripe avocados, they're one of the most pleasantest foods I can think of" (8/15/22 interview with Patrick Timpone).

One way to reduce plastic consumption is to not involve intermediaries. Oranges squeezed directly into a glass container, getting water fresh from an uncontaminated spring, getting freshly butchered meat and freezing the meat yourself(in a glass container) etc ...
