False imprisonment. The case of McLaren v Jennings, where the defendant sent the police to take the plaintiff from Kano to Lagos, and lodged the plaintiff in a hotel. The court held both the man who ordered the police to detain him, and the police, liable, for false imprisonment.

Funny you should say this. Most times, it’s a woman speaking up for both sexes. Only very few times have I seen a man try to amplify the issue. It’s usually “What are the women saying about it?” And it’s even worse when I see men say this under a post about a female rape victim.

We literally see male artists smoke everyday on social media, and it’s seen as normal. We see artists who have been arrested for cybercrime too, but they don’t face as much backlash as a female artist choosing to dress however they like. Also, nobody calls them bad role models🤚🏽

It’s not a criminal offence, so the plaintiff can only be entitled to “damages”. In this case, the lady can be compensated by court, if she can prove that he actually promised to marry her.
