I used to do crim LA costs for a firm in Wales. The legal exec there became a father figure to many Liams. One Liam cried when the LE gave him a cake on his 18th birthday - he was the only one who'd remembered and cared. People like you and the LE make the Liams' worlds better.
The first time I defended a “Liam” I had his social services file disclosed to me, and I got to the part where his mum had neglected him so badly he was routinely arriving at school anaemic, dirty, hungry, with no coat. He was a little bag of bones shivering in the playground.

Today we stopped at the Commando Memorial on the Fort William to Inverness road. It's a majestic monument in majestic surroundings. Nearby was a small garden of remembrance. So many names of those who died in Afghanistan. Unbearably poignant.

Interesting thread - in 2022, 48% of those crossing the channel were from war zones. The vast majority of those were allowed to remain by 1st tier tribunal, and approx 75% of those were family reunions (see table on /9).
Let's just clear this up, the Ukraine scheme is not a resettlement route. It does not provide asylum. It is a highly limited three year visa, many of which will be running out without this government having anything in place to ensure those on them can still find safety here. 1/

I recently attended a protest against this Bill. If I attend one in future - and the hecklers find it a nuisance - I could be arrested. Madness.
I am a lawyer. I always try to support following the law but I believe the new restrictions upon demonstrations simply because they may annoy people like our bullying Home Secretary is simply going to cause more civil disobedience as bad laws often do. Poll tax? Racist Sus laws?
