Theme parks, stand up comedy, technology, politics. In no particular order.
I only roast the ones I love — Jeff Ross.

Attractions like Rivers of America are such a critical element to the castle parks that they've been included in *every* one.
Even the most recent one in 2016 has a green space with a water way.
Why would they remove this key element from the flagship park?
Obviously not a large sample size, but of the four people I know who have a DAS pass, 3 of them claim it's because they have IBS — which they told me personally they don't, they just don't want to wait in line.
Seems like anything to prevent abusing ADA is a win for everyone 🤷🏻♂️
I won’t pretend to be an expert on this and what’s right or wrong but the abuse of this service at WDW is off the charts. I was told a ridiculously high proportion of LL scans are DAS; way higher than any national trends would lead you to expect.
What Disney has been doing & is continuing to do is remove everything that made them unique from regional Six Flags amusement parks.
Started with the ending of entertainment/streetmosphere, and continuing with removal of The Rivers of America
So I took all day to think about it and here’s where I’m at:
Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom has historically drawn upon the rich history of the American West, but the reality is that this narrative is intertwined with colonialism and the displacement of Native American
In case it wasn't clear
@Disney
's target audience is no longer families, only making remakes of films from my childhood is a good indicator they're targeting millennials with disposable income/credit lines.
Hard to say Disney Parks are still "dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America".
They've completely missed the plot.
The real reason Disney is getting away with theming their new attraction based on a film with slews of racial stereotypes and other controversial themes (along with making it take place in a salt mine where black slaves literally died) is simple: the political left said it’s okay
As a relatively new dad, some of the best memories I have with just the kid and I are from just seeing him explore Tom Sawyer's Island.
Makes me sad I won't be able to have similar memories with my other kids.
FIRST LOOK: Disney Parks has revealed the names and personalities of ‘the critters’ Audio-Animatronics figures band from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
Meet Byhalia the Beaver, Gritty the Rabbit, Beau the Opossum, Apollo the Raccoon, Rufus the Turtle, and Timoléon the Otter!

Here's the root of the DAS "controversy":
1) Disney tried to do the right thing by providing above & beyond reasonable accommodations
2) The general public took advantage of these accommodations
3) Disney is now reverting to the legal minimum, which is what every company does
@Joe_Rohde
Reading between the lines...finance people don't see a ROI, so they won't approve a fix.
Guests are happy, marketing doesn't want to point out they fixed something 15 years after it broke, and ops doesn't want to lose 12.5% of its attractions.
Can anyone tell me how an illness with flu like symptoms can impact someone's ability to wait in a queue, but doesn't impact their ability to wait for fireworks, consume dole whips, or otherwise experience a theme park?
Proof we are a dumb society:
Everyone at Magic Kingdom gets one step below an anal probe at security, yet instead of thinking the most likely thing — one of the tens of thousands of balloons in the park popped — it is more probable there's an active shooter.
It is the result of US culture, but gun culture has nothing to do with it.
It is the result of generations now being more anxious than ever before, and consistently looking for a reason to panic.
Look no further to the govt response to COVID.
There was an emergency evacuation at Magic Kingdom because of this.
This is the result of US gun culture: People hear a pop sound and instinctively fear they'll be a victim of our daily gun violence.
This fear is the "freedom" gun advocates fight to preserve for Americans.
@JUAQUINZAVALA3
Other than a bunch of facades missing, the track layout of SDD being drastically different, and there not being an Al’s Toy Barn….other than that tho.
Imagine setting your friend circle based on political opinions.
If you voted for Biden, Trump, Obama, W. Bush......I don't care. They all suck & share equal responsibility for where we are as a country today.
Just be a decent human being.
@Wildest_Ride
It also shouldn't be forgotten how this quote whitewashes the literal GENOCIDE of entire indigenous nations.
Disney doesn't care of course. They just want more IP in the parks. But to me it's good we will have less Manifest Destiny apologia in a family friendly park.
I'm enjoying people who cheered for fellow Americans to lose their jobs for not taking a medication or for taking a political post out-of-context now getting the tables turned on them.
Perhaps you should've thought of that before changing the rules.
I've lived in Florida for half a decade, I go to
@WaltDisneyWorld
at least twice a month. Never saw or smelled someone smoking pot.
The last two times I've been at Magic Kingdom, I've seen a guest smoking a full on blunt out in the open.
What the hell is going on
At this point, I don’t really care about the followers I lose.
But let’s be clear: Disney is doing this because they hate Americana. Plain and simple. This is all a continuation of removing things deemed “problematic” by the horrible group of people they send through their
If you can't wait in a 45 min queue, but can wait in the hub for 45 min to watch an 18 min firework show, then you can wait in a queue for 63 minutes at least.
Meanwhile, Animal Kingdom — Disney's largest theme park at 500 acres — has 7 rides.
8 if you include the train to planet watch.
9 if you include it's tough to be a bug.
From my count, Disney thinks they can fit 13 rides into this expansion plot. This is looking more like DLRs 3rd theme park than an expansion of DL and DCA.

It's our morning video. Tinkerbell is joining Splash Mountain... and they will destroy your favorite character next.

Everyone who needs accommodations, gets an accommodation.
Just because you say you need an accommodation, does not make it so.
And if you do genuinely need an accommodation, a company does not have to give the accommodation you asked for.
Concept art is cheap...let's see how many of yesterday's announcements come to fruition. For the parks
@WaltDisneyCo
majority own, I bet more than half of the announcements won't occur.
Donald Trump is the oldest nominee for President in American history.
Donald Trump is the only convicted felon nominee for President in American history.
Unfit.
@imtheworrrrst
It's incredible that Universal is capable of making concept art look close to the finish product, but Disney is not.
What's the point of concept art if it's not going to look anything close to what the finished product will be?
Kamala Harris says, if elected president, she’ll use executive action to confiscate guns if Congress doesn’t act within the first 100 days of her administration

In this country with that clientele, specifically.
Disney historically did go above and beyond. Then there were people who decided to sell themselves being in a wheelchair as a VIP tour, which started the DAS program.
FTR: The 4th person has an issue regulating their internal body temp, and therefore cannot be outside for extended periods of time. They also have a service animal to alert if their heart rate is too high.

People are expecting the service to be like Universal's Express Pass or their regional Six Flags skip-the-line pass, when in reality the LL is just the standby line from their childhood.
Today's PSA:
There is no such thing as "government money" or "government funded". The government does not sell goods.
It is "taxpayer money" or "taxpayer funded"
Anybody else see the irony that the Olympics aren't letting Russians compete under their flag because of the War in Ukraine, yet in 1936 they had no problem with Nazi Germany being hosts with Hitler leading the country.

I did not think illegal immigrants were eating pets, but then the Harris campaign came out guns blazing about that, so now I'm certain there are pets getting eaten.

Take the blinders off and you'll see.
- Paid skip the line
- Lacking entertainment
- Removal of streetmosphere
- Removal of open areas that add to ambiance
Do not engage with that account going after Knott’s Halloween event. They are dangerous, and are constantly inciting violence against organizations, schools, or anyone who is welcoming to queer people. Commenting and quote tweeting their nonsense is exactly what they want.
Just throwing this out there — if the side you're supporting has civilian hostages (especially women & children), chances are you will not be on the right side of history.
A fun game I like to play today: whenever a company posts about "Juneteenth", search their timeline for the first time they mentioned the holiday.
I've yet to see one pre-2020.
Galaxy's Edge is basically like if Universal Orlando built some brand new witchcraft and wizardry school that you've never heard of with characters that are distant cousins of Harry Potter. The more I think about, the more I seriously don't know what they were thinking.

Hi, Orlando local here.
Where can I get a quick service meal at Disney World for $12-15 (assuming this is an entree, side, and a medium soft drink)?
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually think Universal has a real shot at flipping the tables here.
Disney’s understanding of the “Guest” is so far removed from what it was just 10 years ago that I fear the experience we all continue to long for will never return.
