In late 80’s a half black girl transferred to our small, rural, all white junior high school. The staff and teachers went orgasmic over her in a super cringe way.

I was driving down a highway on a rainy day and a voice told me to “slow down”. I was alone so I brushed it off.
When it repeated twice more, I slowed way down.
Within minutes there was a head on collision in front of me. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Homeschool.
We did 2-3 hours a day and our son learned Russian, read many of the great classics, and learned calculus by 8th grade. He also became an apprentice Blacksmith, and we traveled extensively to learn geography and history.
Public schools are just awful.
