@CGMMaher So are we at a point where we think of hands on treatment as a version of exposure therapy?

@CGMMaher Isn't it always the way that when you can't prove something works, you re-purpose it. "Sure our new welding grease doesn't work - but have you tasted it?"

@TomPlender The article has some really interesting and current stuff in it. It does veer into a bit of speculative science at the end - but overall a good coverage of the topics and the potential links between the different symptoms/labels.

@DerekGriffin86 Until better data re-causality is available we shouldn't assume causality only goes one way.

@giovanni_ef I'm curious about the mechanism you believe underpins any effect of duloxetine on sciatica?

Original: Dr. @David_dRice et al. (@AUTuni & @AucklandUni) did an RCT on home-based EEG neurofeedback for chronic pain — Not superior to the sham control-EEG neurofeedback — Partially active sham intervention may have obscured b/w-group differences Full:

@AdamMeakins That review was just so misleading. The dance study (just one from memory) was done with a small very select group. Sign. Not just bad stats but poor science.

@PeteOSullivanPT @hjluks Surely it's more sensible to have age related norms rather than assessing against the normal "younger self"? Is there a problem that prevents us from doing this with MRIs?

@DerekGriffin86 Yes, the critical word is required. I've had a lot of clients with sore backs who assume it's due to back a weakness after being given an exercise program. How's that different to saying your imaging shows you have the spine of a 70 year old.
