Supporting people to get healthier transport solutions and stop damaging new roads
England
Joined June 2019
We've been quoted in an article about the Lower Thames Crossing in The Times. Delays in bringing a solution forward is due to National Highways' incompetence. Read about many of the schemes failings in this expert report by Dr Colin Black
Transport Action Network, a campaigning group, disputes the economic benefit, and says better options had not been considered: 🗣️ “The people tasked with solving the problem are the National Highways agency. The only thing they know about is highways,” says director Chris Todd

Give your views on the Spending Review - deadline is SUNDAY 9th Feb. This is a great opportunity to tell the Treasury to prioritise spending on public transport and active travel, and not expensive new roads.
The Spending Review will decide how to spend tax payers money on your priorities. @RachelReevesMP and I launched the review today. We will look at every pound spent and it will conclude in June 2025. I’ll be getting around the country to invite you to be part of the process.

The Lower Thames Crossing is not fit for purpose and no amount of greenwashing will make it so!
Our goal of building the UK’s greenest road is at the heart of every decision we make. This year's #LowerThamesCrossing sustainability report outlines what we have accomplished so far, and what lies ahead in our #sustainability mission. Read our report:

"Everyone will end up paying the price if the Lower Thames Crossing goes ahead with private finance... 7 years of delays while it is built, for only 5 years relief at Dartford, with tolls increasing at both crossings to pay back investors.”- @ecochris_todd

Trying to green a hugely damaging road scheme is like putting green lipstick on a pig. Not a pretty sight.
The #LowerThamesCrossing has set itself a new, more ambitious target to reduce its construction carbon emissions by 70%. Our second #sustainability report is now live, read more here:
