@SaveBGstreets Sorting through the archives, found this from 8 November 2013, a letter to the Evening Standard about cycling safety from Lutfur Rahman, Mayor of Tower Hamlets, urging the Mayor of London to take urgent action. How times change!

We've been getting reports of @TowerHamletsNow Enforcement Officers harassing cyclists as they go through the shared pavement between Columbia Road and Gosset Street, outside The Birdcage pub. Has this happened to you? If so, we'd love to hear about it - get in touch!

Very disappointing news from @SarahWoodberryD @mayorofhackney @carowoodley, following the already disappointing decision regarding Pembury Circus. The DfT road collision dataset will keep piling up new entries as long as @hackneycouncil does not properly engage with stakeholders
1/ Hackney is moving forward with a Downham Road scheme without cycling provision. We don't think the decision makes any sense, and is a wasted opportunity. @SarahWoodberryD @mayorofhackney @carowoodley please read to understand the background of this strange decision ->
