Brilliant. I’m not Canadian, nor super political. But this is a master class in using the same strategy as the “Columbo tactic” from
@gregkoukl
’s book Tactics. 😂😂👏👏👏
This is the single funniest clip I’ve ever seen of a political candidate interacting with a "journalist". In 2 minutes and 19 seconds, Pierre Poilievre exposes what a fraud the media is all while munching on an apple. 😂
@brsavol
I’m so sorry brother. We have been walking this path knowing her death would come since June. God face much grace but it was mingled with many tears. I’m stopping to pray for you right now. 🙏
Proud dad moment:
I left a bookstore tonight with my kids. My son casually explains why I had to wait for him: “I was putting the Narnia books in the right order.”
👏👏👏👏👏👏
For those who know Jesus, death doesn’t have the last say; it has the next-to-last say.
The last word for the Christian is the resurrection.
The last word is life.
The last word is mercy.
The last word is that God will take us to be with him forever.
- David Powlison
“But to take their grief away, God would need to take their love away, for love and grief are like the daffodils of early spring in which two flowers bloom from a single stem. There is no grief where there has not been love and no love that comes without risk of grief…”
Flashback: There is no grief where there has not been love and no love that comes without risk of grief. They weep because they have loved and because they love still.
It’s funny that this account thinks Lewis readers will accept this article as something Lewis would have believed.
Who is running this account? They need to be fired. Or the account needs to change its name. This is not Lewis.
3/3 Please for her as she will probably have an additional biopsy and that they would be able to quickly determine what type of cancer she has. Pray for our family, that we would trust in God’s providence.
@ScottAniol
👏👏👏 Amen! And this confusion is avoided when we translate θεοπνεθστος as "God breathed" instead of "inspired" or "given by inspiration." The text is God breathed. The writers were carried (1 Pet. 1:21).
New Year, New Joys, New Sorrows
What is certain is that 2024 will bring both joys and sorrows, both gains and losses. There will be good days and bad, joyful seasons and grievous. Some circumstances we will look forward to and some we will dread.
If you have not read Jerry Bridges classic work *The Pursuit of Holiness*, well, you should add it to your reading list. It's not too deep or dense. It's clear and Biblical. Most of all, it is filled with hope.

It’s been too long. Hooray for brothers who welcome you back and call you horrendous!
And shoutout to Sydni Kirkwood, our amazing social media manager, for her awesome photoshop pic—complete with winter apparel!

I feel this deep in my soul. As a teacher, it drives me nuts that students want to use AI and act like it’s the same as them doing the work.

Watching episode 4 with the kids for the first time. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this movie. I think a better title would be “Space Panentheism” instead.
Whitney on Bible intake:
“There is simply no healthy Christian life apart from the diet of the milk in the meat of the scripture...None of the eternally essential information can be found anywhere else...if we would know God and be godly, we must know the word of God intimately.
There are few compliments better than saying students at your institution are hungry for expositional preaching. 👏👏👏 Thankful for

2/3 It is not the same type she had previously (lymphoma), but they have not been able to diagnose what type it is yet. She is being referred to a doctor at the University of Iowa hospital.
@CoryMMarsh2
I feel this in my soul. I teach college and I get that you don't want to buy every book. But you are responsible for the texts...and the books are a way better investment than some other stuff in life.... just saying.
Sin, as an angel of light, talks much about the love of God. It will talk about anything in order to get you to close your eyes to the consequences of your actions, & the end to which they lead, and especially to the death, eternal death, in which they are going to issue. - MLJ
Again, Bridges’ book is great. Very perceptive about the Christian life and holiness. If you haven’t read it, consider putting it on your reading list. It will be worth your time.

Your soul without the Bible is like your body without food.
Your soul without prayer is like your body without water.
Without fellowship, as without exercise. Without discipline, as without hygiene.
Seemingly small, invisible realities are vital and eventually become visible.
I’ve anticipated this debate-book for years:
1. covenant theology: Mike Horton
2. progressive covenantalism: Steve Wellum
3. progressive dispensationalism: Darrell Bock
4. traditional dispensationalism: Mark Snoeberger
It’s as good as I had hoped.

“Peter did not feel very brave; indeed, he felt he was going to be sick. But that made no difference to what he had to do.”
- C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
I had the same experience but it was a Stavesacre concert and nothing about the song was talking about God. Helped me see that what I called “worship” was something else.
Basic Christian ethics from an apostate. Funny how they get it, but no one in modern churches do. True worship isn’t entertainment. It’s supposed to adore God & His Holiness through sobriety & reverence. Even the lost children should see that.
We all seem to be aware that gratitude is a virtue, but there is no such thing as gratitude in isolation. We are grateful for and grateful to something... or someone.
@jhow0089
I once had and Amill friend tell me he left dispensationalism because “I wanted 2/3 of my Bible back” referring to the OT.
And yet, two of my colleagues know more about the OT than anyone else I’ve met. So, something doesn’t add up…
Ecclesiastes 7:2 - It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for this is the end of all mankind, and the living will lay it to heart.
