Let's reinvent how we assess neuropsychiatric disorder symptoms. Not all can be quantified/Likert-style rated. To better capture complex symptoms/sensations (e.g. brain feels like it's on fire), we need more creative measurement/reporting methods. We miss what we don't ask about.

“Mental” health IS physical & we must keep working towards universal establishment of healthcare equity for ALL disorders/diseases/disabilities/chronic illnesses for ALL people and BREAK the stigma around “mental”/brain health.
I don't know many people who have spent more than $300K out-of-pocket on health care for "physical" disorders.
I know many people who have spent that much and more for mental health care.

We learned a lot about depression in the last 60 years. But we still measure depression with the knowledge of 1960.

Mixed/dysphoric manic episodes are often harder to treat than "classical" i.e. euphoric mania, last longer, often get misdiagnosed as unipolar depression, and elevate risk for suicide. More education & research are needed. Thank you
@IntlBipolar

Bipolar disorder is not limited to a vertical experience of depression or mania; both can occur simultaneously at different levels. We understand what you are going through. 💚
