I see the "wheelchairs in a dungeon" nonsense has resurfaced. It's entirely reasonable that debilitating, incurable - even with magic - disabilities could exist in a fantasy world. People so afflicted wouldn't be adventurers, just like they aren't soldiers on your planet now.

@MGecko117 I think it's entirely a duration thing. It's impossible to know how many worms there are on the planet or where they are, so you flip it on, hope no one notices, and turn it off as soon as you can. The books articulate that the ornithopters are entirely because of this problem.

"Fortified" must mean something different on your planet. I mean, my minions aren't even combat units, and they could almost literally walk through that.
An encampment that is flying under the radar but is very fortified is the one at California State University, Los Angeles. You can even hear a drill whirl as activists reinforce the CSULA wall.
