I have had so many doctors try to bully me into taking a statin, two of which were cardiologists.
It gets to where I lose patience with the bullying which means sometimes a patient is without choice but to tell their drug-pushing doctor to shove it.

He had wanted to give me a statin prescription and wanted me on a DASH diet. But I refused both and went on the keto-carnivore diet, instead.

I have had a half dozen doctors, at the VA Medical Center, try to bully me into taking a statin.
This is true despite the fact I have the best fasting TG/HDL ratio that anybody could hope for, which means my harmful Pattern B cholesterol is negligible.
I tell them to shove it.

My doctor procrastinated for years until my HbA1c was around 6.0 before telling me that I was prediabetic.
I then did a Google search for "HbA1c" to learn more.
Then his dietitian put me on a DASH diet which made it worse.
Ignoring my doctor by going Keto finally saved me.

My primary doctor has repeatedly tried to bully me into to taking a statin because of it. And I have now twice had to tell them off.

I followed dietary advice of my registered dietitian for two years. She insisted I adhere to a DASH type of diet. Then she blamed me when my weight and glucose got worse instead of better.
What finally saved me was ignoring her and then listening to Keto doctors on social media.

Keto doctors on social media likewise save my life. My own doctor gave me nothing better than the standard ADA advice. That plus prescriptions. And I kept getting worse until I finally ignored my doctor.

I just humor those people to be polite.

Two years ago, the DASH diet prescribed by my doctor sent my BP so high that I was twice taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
In less than one month, my BP returned to normal without prescriptions.

My W/H ratio equals 0.55. I would have to drop my waistline from 39 to 35 inches to reach a 0.50 ratio.
Those last four inches are stubborn. So, I should attempt a 48-hour fast

My skin does not sunburn anymore, now that I switched to an organic, Carnivore diet. Healthy animal fat, like grass-fed beef tallow and butter, and the absence of vegetable oils, made my skin healthier. Even the wrinkles on my face disappeared.

My doctor gave me a prescription to BP medicine with eleven refills, as if it were a foregone conclusion that I would take it for life.
He also prescribed statins but I never filled the prescription.
With a change in lifestyle, I no longer need any prescription. BP is fine.

Following you on social media has gotten me into the habit of riding my bicycle at sunrise without sunglasses. And then again at sunset.
I think it helps.
Doing that plus lowering my HbA1c to 5.0 on a Keto diet; no alcohol; no smoking weed.
Has enabled me to feel my best.

Moreover, churches tend to occupy the best parcels of land in every municipality; and they are exempt from property tax.

All markers are excellent except for that high Total Cholesterol.
But so longer as my fasting TG/HDL ratio is low, it is unlikely that a high Total is due to an unhealthy Pattern B cholesterol.

DASH, and all other diets better suited for a rabbit, are not what humans should eat.

I have had several mainstream doctors try to put me on statins. They are so persistent that I almost have to get nasty with them in my refusal.
A patient is well advised to learn how to read their own Lipid Panel so they won't be at the mercy of their doctor's bias for statins.
