21 months into my journey. I did the opposite of standard advice for type 2. Not eating high carbs or eating every 2 hours to keep sugars stable, none of that nonsense. And close to no plant based foods. Except coffee of course, some chocolate, some nuts, occasional veggies. 1/2

Keto alone did not get me off insulin. Fast forward 7 months, I added daily IF 16:8, which got me off insulin in exactly 2 weeks. That was 4.5 years ago and I still maintain a healthy A1c. I also lost a lot of weight.

None of the diabetes medications reverse or put type 2 diabetes into remission. They can help manage blood sugar, but they often fail, which is why type 2 diabetes is labeled as chronic and progressive. Dietary changes, however, can change that. My A1c was 8.5, and I was on 50.

Diagnosed with RA 30 years ago, i was told to eliminate animal products/use seed oils. They followed the standard of care. But the advice was dead wrong. On close to carnivore, no seed oils, I am healing. Off immune suppressants now. No more symptoms. RT to get the message out.

This is fundamentally why zero-carb diets are not ideal for weight loss, metabolic health, or body composition. These diets require lots of pure fat for energy. Pure fat has a very low satiety *per calorie.*. Therefore, zero-carb diets make people eat more than a diet with some.

Why are T2 diabetics still told that T2D is chronic progressive?.Why are they not taught how to reverse it?. Instead they are put on increasing amounts of meds with horrible complications down the lane. It had to unlearn the dogma to reverse my T2D. Going against standard care.

If bread requires you to be on insulin or diabetes meds, maybe don't eat it to avoid the meds. Bread has no nutritional value that cannot be obtained from other food. Other than wanting bread, there is no reason to eat it. Getting off meds is a good reason not to eat it. 1/2

67 hours into a spontaneous fast, I was hungry twice. Yesterday with my 16 yo next to me eating pizza. Today with the scent of gyros in the air. Hunger didn’t last long. Off insulin and Metformin for 21 months. T2D is not chronic progressive 💪. I usually do 18:6 daily, 40:8 max.

When I was diagnosed with T2D, I was told it was chronic progressive. I was on insulin and Metformin with an 8.5 A1c. Almost 3 years ago, I changed my diet. And guess what, they lied. T2D is not chronic progressive. It is reversible. Off meds for 2 years, look at the numbers.

No, you have it backwards. Too much insulin makes the kidneys retain sodium. It's better to restrict carbs, not salt.

I tried to be positive about my obese body. But the reality was, I was in pain and unhappy. Body positivity has nothing to do with loving my curves. It actually made me feel more guilty for not accepting myself. This is the true harm of the body positivity movement.

I never counted calories, but happened to end up at around 1800 calories, carbs under 20g, most days under 10g per day. No seed oils, no UPF, but plenty animal based food. All my metabolic markers improved, allowing me to get off insulin and all meds except for thyroid. 2/2.#keto.

Doctor: You lost a lot of weight, and your kidneys are doing great again. Me: Yes, I do keto. Doctor: Keto will destroy your kidneys. Shortly after they dropped me for being non-compliant bc I stopped an immune suppressant I never needed (misdiagnosed RA almost 30 years ago).

A1c is at 5.2 again. For the third time in a row. It's been 11 months since I got off insulin and Metformin. Diabetes is not chronic progressive. We do not need to eat carbs for stable glucose levels. We do not need small frequent meals. Thanks @KenDBerryMD and @drjasonfung
