Actually, in Weston-super-Mare, NOT a city, there are regular traffic jams heading into town. That means, often, cycling into town is at least as fast as jumping in a car. Especially if you avoid Locking Road and go via the cyclepath on the ring road instead. I can do it in 10.

The country isn't neglecting fossil fuels as baseload. Every renewable energy journalist with any sense admits that progression to a renewable energy economy is a transition, so yes, we need some fossil fuels now, but the transition is all about reducing that.
