@nkecom @codyplof All you are saying is that the better the offer the less convincing the creative needs to be. The worse the offer the better the creative has to be. Do what you have the skill set to do…if you can operate at high margins with unique products then creative matters less….if you.

@peterczepiga I do 3 things: spend a bit of time helping somebody in need for free. Then watching one of my fav movies and going out to a great restaurant. A very long run. It’s same day.

@zachmstuck What they are actually saying isthe business is too profitable due to key man risk providing more value at the top than they are charging. Implying key man risk. Also, they are saying there is no discernible enterprise value to recover from in default. Diversify, productize.

@heyitsalexP I think there is another angle to this discussion nobody ever brings up. There were less of them, they were incredibly well funded, and they had some of the best teams of marketers in the world working on their brand. With lots of money and the best talent you can build a “brand”.

@iiiitsandrea This prebiotic game is the biggest racket. Anything with binder fiber is prebiotic. I actually think these products have way too much fiber/prebiotics in them that cause a lot of gut discomfort actually. We try to keep fiber middle ground to help folks out 🤝😊.

@lifeofbi My guy, see what the sauce is here is that if you have the first 3 you should NEVER have that EBITDA margin. It’s a mortal sin. Not sure people will catch my drift. Run it at 10% bottom line and you will make way more money in the long run.

@heyitsalexP Wow girl, you thought of all this while just eating breakfast and going about your day!? Impressive breakdown. Also each of these act diff depending on the generation they are from IMHO.

@AlexaKilroy @herrmanndigital As a food brand I can attest. Making native ugly ads can get engagement but if the food ain’t goooooorgeous it doesn’t convert. 🫤.

@TaylorHoliday Multiplied by the risk quotient that they leave and you have a replacement cost. This nobody talks about but in PE I learned about this the hard way😂.

@ashvinmelwani So is the theory customers want to have 30 communities they belong to for every cpg product in their pantry? Or are you saying there is likely only room for 1 for each customer and be that 1? . I think that works for obvi due to the goals people set with your product. But like if.

@TaylorHoliday @drbillnye Stars + Honey exists wherever you try on your old college clothes and they kinda still fit. We cannot be limited by borders. BUT we are looking to acquire laguna beach CA. Stay tuned.

@TaylorHoliday If someone says at 12:04 am on the 14th all of a sudden my ads drastically changed in performance and stayed that way for weeks… your options are to assume:. 1) the demand side of your product (millions of people) in lock step drastically changed at that minute. 2) a huge rush.

@DylanAnder I wonder how much money my account wastes advertising to itself 😂 ? We always see our own ads from our own organic channel. If we don’t buy from our own ads is that an algo problem or an audience problem?.

@andrewjfaris Are you saying 28 dc 2.0x roas is all the conversions you got within 28 days / 28 days worth of ad spend too? Or all the conversions you got today from 28 days worth of clicks but divided by only todays ad spend? Big difference.

@danavirsarria Did it take awhile for them to “work”? Mine spend over target cpa all the time pretty bad and I set the cap way under the cpa. I’ve often wonder how long it takes to dial in?.

If you suddenly have more money: stay on your old budget/don’t change lifestyle for 1 year. Pray about it 1x a month for 12 months. Trust. #money #truelife #wedidntcomethisfartoonlycomethisfar.

@Codie_Sanchez But their tight margin reflects the problems of their scale. If you only had to find 10 opportunities the margins would be much higher and my assumption is that you or your followers would not be investing much past this scale.

@peterczepiga @TaylorHoliday I second this request. Seems like y’all focus on brands where creative is not the need and rather need financial help too? Wonder how that will be either in or out of demand as dtc grows up.

@DaveRekuc This is why price testing with ease is something that is so vital. But so difficult technically speaking imo.

@danavirsarria @johnhickey1970 I’ve seen it at that price. If you have a ton of creative templates and good direction it’s totally doable.

@codyplof We work with a variety of creative partners and make a lot internally. My directive is always net new. Obv sometimes people throw in iterations but it’s not our “worldview” that they are worth much.

@EyeforRetail_ 1) protein bars and luxury coffee might be the most controversial comment sections on the internet. 😂. 2) I love Wilde chips. Staple in my house. 3) What will a post protein world look like!?!.

@nkecom @natelagos I think a huge benefit of CC is that you can scale a lot faster. For example, if you are a new brand and can only afford to lose 1k a day to bad spend….throw an inflated budget out there of 5k at your cash flow positive cpa target. Wake up the next day and you hit your 5k target.

@iamshackelford Building a brand has taught me: everything’s natural state is broken, and sub optimal. Every single piece of the “business”. And then every time as a leader you unbreak and optimize something there will be resistance and trials but that is the way to building value for society.

@TaylorHoliday @binghott @nicholassbauer @HireFireTeam @TaylorLagace Hold on. Both are legitimate. Again it’s so similar to investing. Some buy a few companies and work within them deeply and drive value. Other are quants who have great tools and generate returns from an organized large portfolio process. Kynship has a lot of skill in what they do.

@nicktheriot_ Treat it as equally as important as the actual product itself. We make product and we make content. Need both, and can’t really ever stop.

@jackie_startok 100%. Affiliate bot outreach is not sustainable. Gotta have internal team making bangers unique to brand. If someone figures this out they’ll have me at hello.

@heyitsalexP Accurate. And I’ve seen to notice that performance advertising on meta for each category is quite different.

@heyitsalexP And they love ugly ads w no branding:/ or is it they don’t like polished ads that aren’t that cute (there is a difference). Same reason why marketing creatives can’t transition to film and tv productions — what they think is pretty is actually not … it’s just polished.

@heyitsalexP Yeah so many views on this. Found certain agencies that do real well with fashion struggle with other categories and vice versa. 3PLs and other service providers too. I think the multi sku turning over all the time and high return rates is a challenge but then on the flip side I.

@Rich_Muskett Assuming your offer wasn’t slashing the price by the same percentage of the drop in cpa?.

@SeanEcom As we said in PE, sell shovels and pans to people on their way to the gold rush— as opposed to participating in it.

@Brcremer What I find interesting to take this further. Is that those 3k verses are really telling a story that caring for the marginalized is actually more about helping your own soul then it is for those you are caring for. So powerful to realize that the tables in the Kingdom are turned.

@iamshackelford And as a general fabric it builds in patience and endurance in discomfort to see success through as opposed to always changing …will likely bleed into even the small things which will add up. I can’t tell you how many benefits getting married at 21 and being 38 to the same woman.

@heyitsalexP Canon R6. Color science I bet will be more to your taste out of camera than Sony. Instagram is the best place to learn everything you need in a concise way.

@anatelorenzen This happens to me sometimes. The audience the cap is going after must be spotty/sparce IMO…so it probably has more volatility to its outcomes. This can’t be an occurrence for really old ad sets no?.

@heyitsalexP @ImChaseMohseni This information is incredibly illuminating and now makes me love this story even more. I had a similar experience in a different industry and context.

@JakubSzunyogh Very well said. And actually quite the opposite structure is needed if you sell a commoditized product.

@andrewjfaris @veryfailed @TaylorHoliday And I mean I’ll say it again nobody buys index advertising in the aggregate like the sp500 …They have an individualized experience. So the total aggregate data is not necessarily relevant to someone’s individual experience. Things break. Meta is imperfect. Still the best.

@TaylorHoliday So I guess when one campaign stops spending you just launch a new one…until you have like 59 campaigns…do the old school ones ever start spending again coming back from the dead?.

@Cody_Wittick @TaylorLagace How does influencer marketing for UGC content on IG differ from TikTok? Ie From a personality, form, or substance standpoint etc.

@heyitsalexP I guess performance marketing is different depending on your audience. And Facebook is dominated by a certain type of demographic in 2023 so that has trained marketers to think in a certain way…what about in 2040?.

@heyitsalexP @ChereneAubert This coupled with favoring vids that get high watch time low sales vs others with higher ctr and higher sales but lower watch time obv means goals aren’t always aligned imo.

@heyitsalexP So that’s not just a luxury ad. That’s a luxury ad with like the most popular athlete in the world. If you get Messi…you put it up right? It’s like getting Obama.

@binghott @eatrotten_ Contrast the messiness and ugliness and scariness by always making it somewhat attractive/satisfying and within geometric symmetry. Obvi does a great job with this. Don’t have the hero image be a guy that looks like he is a cliche molestor. Use neon as accents not the rule.

@HireFireTeam @AdtopsyLive @thedanielokon 2 has a story element that you say what the heck is going to happen to this girl. 1 could almost do that too…but doesn’t have a human protagonist in the same way to start. Story to me likely always wins in video and product likely wins w feature benefit call outs. IMHO.

@DylanAnder Indeed! But I bet they could code that algo to not buy impressions on the very account that is also advertising and paying for those impressions :) I wonder why they don’t?.

@jayden_dummett Ahh and Meta is selling to these existing customers in addition to your expected volume of new customers to be acquired or seemingly replacing them and ignoring your exclusions (but perhaps communicating no new customers available below cap).

@TaylorHoliday I think consumers will determine this more than we are giving them credit for. Do you think Meta is interested in matching Shopify’s experience for buyers or trying to get buyers to change what they want to know and when in the journey?.

@HireFireTeam @andrewjfaris I laughed so hard. I guess we have to answer the question…does Meta ever spend on an ad that it is unsure will get your cpa BUT that is still getting engagement and is good for Meta?.
