I’m waiting patiently on a scan to tell me if I need a liver transplant, I can’t get antibodies from the vaccine & I’m currently surviving on £77 a week but the real big issue I’m facing is not being able to buy a Jubilee flag & plates from Tesco…….
The DUP, Ulster Unionists and the TUV all released statements questioning why there seemed to be a lack of royal paraphernalia on offer in a particular Tesco store in Northern Ireland.

As a family we have lost 3 members to this virus. The dangerous people are individuals like Van Morrison & Ian Paisley Jr who have undermined our health advice multiple times across the past 16 months
I’m absolutely ashamed that this individual is meant to be the MP for my area
I find it incredible that Ian Paisley Jr is falling over himself to talk to Jamie Bryson but yet as the elected MP for my area I’ve been unable to get any interaction with him over several years in regards to health & welfare issues.
When
@naomi_long
is discussing her plans for the NHS, we see her do a steeple gesture.
The steeple gesture is a sign of confidence in what she is talking about.

Heard about an incident recently where a disabled person with Crohn’s disease was denied the use of an MLA’s office toilet facilities even after producing their “can’t wait card”.
If your MLA office doesn’t cater for disabled people do you truly represent them??

My aunt & uncle where more than just bodies. My uncle was a veteran, hard working & proud family man.
My aunt loved watching football, baking & her family.
They both would of done anything to help anyone

There are 2 of his quotes I love.
The 1st is:
“If you give people a chance, they shine.”
The 2nd is:
“Avoid people who say they know the
answer. Keep the company of
people who are trying to
understand the question”
Arrogance like this really makes my blood boil.
Yesterday my mum had a hospital appointment where they found suspected cancer & took a biopsy. She was told that the results will be back in two months at the earliest?!
Jeffrey may not be in a hurry but my family certainly are!
Lying here in bed listening to that howling wind & the rain bashing against the window reminds me of just how blessed I am to have a warm bed & a roof over my head.

Leadership is about making decisions that people many not like but you still make them.
As part of a family who have lost several members to this virus, I’d rather other families didn’t have to experience similar,
I’m 100% standing behind

As someone who is likely going to need a liver transplant, I can’t fathom why local politicians wouldn’t be doing all they could to get this organ donation legislation working & saving lives.
Every day of delay will cause lives to be lost & families to suffer.
.
@duponline
leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson says his party will not support the election of a Speaker in tomorrow's assembly recall to discuss organ donation legislation
Absolutely shameful input by
@eastantrimmp
Clearly Mr Wilson hasn’t talked to grieving families or realise exactly how we feel about the PM’s behaviour.
I was always taught growing up that it’s incredibly rude to talk when other people are talking.
This behaviour by members of a political party is just rude, undermining & an attempt at school yard bullying.
Once Upon a time in Northern Ireland was an uncomfortable but important watch.
I believe the history of Northern Ireland / Ireland needs taught in our schools as it’s essential to educate our future so that they can avoid the mistakes of our past.
A brave interview by
@SorchaEastwood
The infrastructure & facilities of the local trusts are clearly below standard & in need of major investment.
No patient should lose their dignity or privacy.
The patients, their families & staff deserve better
Can anyone pick out any interesting body language displayed by Mr Buckley during this part of his interview yesterday?
I’ll give you a few I observed later.
This is the reality.
Jim Allister talking about leverage & the DUP gloating about collapsing the institutions really angers me.
Sitting back doing nothing while the health service is on the verge of collapse & people are struggling to survive isn’t leverage it’s inhumane & cruel
Amid the Windsor Framework spinning game, do not lose sight of the fact the health service is in meltdown and lives are at risk and being lost. During five weeks in hospital, there was never a mention of the Protocol. What’s the real crisis?
@brownecfm
@1goodtern
I had a session with my long covid psychologist & we discussed what it’s doing to people. It’s shocking when you’re told about the impact it has on your nerves & body regulation. Plus the possible long time issues it’s causing people
@mrjamesob
This has really made my blood boil. We lost 3 family members to this virus. They didn’t cower, they fought it with everything they had. They where failed by the government when was meant to protect them.
It’s time for reform in the
@niassembly
.
We can’t continue with single parties constantly collapsing the assembly just because they don’t get their own way.
It’s also time that my vote was deemed equal to that of nationalists & unionists.
NEW This is hugely significant.
DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has told the ERG today that the DUP will not rejoin power-sharing in Northern Ireland, Tory MPs say.
Just when you think
@BorisJohnson
can’t sink any lower.
His pathetic behaviour towards
@Ianblackford_MP
when Mr Blackford was talking about the amount of loved ones taken by covid was absolutely disgusting.

I’ve mainly noticed 2 tweets today. Both by local politicians in regards to the ongoing pandemic.
The first is childish, repulsive & ignorant. The 2nd is full of compassion, hope & respect.
I’d certainly prefer a future with more politicians like
@KateNicholl
& less Mr Wilson
The DUP are claiming all local council areas in NI have playground provisions for disabled children thanks to them?!
I’m pretty sure councils are all made up of multiple political parties & individuals.
Someone asked me earlier what I would say in the chamber tomorrow if I could.
It’s simple I’d name the organs people are waiting for in NI & the amount of people waiting on them.
I wouldn’t reference the DUP because it’s not about that party, it’s about the people being failed

My aunt and uncle,who lived in London, spent Christmas alone and a week later died both alone in hospital. We as a family had to make yet another sacrifice by not going to their funeral.
I can assure the PM & number 10 that I certainly dont find it funny in the slightest
@morefluids
Thank you for sharing this.
We lost our aunt & uncle within 5 days of each other last week. The both died in hospital & we thought they where alone. This certainly eases that worry knowing that you & your colleagues will of gave them support, love & respect during that time. ❤️

It still annoys me how the club treated Jerry. Arsenal prides itself on being a family & looking after our own.
Sadly Jerry didn’t receive any of that from the club & the club should put that right.

I did this myself. I waited 18 months for the appeal but it was worth it.
On the appeal day I was awarded my PIP without even having to go in front of the panel.
It’s stressful in the run up but definitely worth it
Great to see
@NualaToman
@disabilityni
on the
@UTVNews
tonight highlighting how disabled people in NI aren’t protected by legislation that the rest of the UK already has in place.
It now becomes clear why the ERG was so keen to get Truss & Kwarteng into the top jobs.
Their first act is to attack the lowest paid in our society & increase the incomes of the rich.
That was vile from
@KwasiKwarteng
who actually just said "for too long in this country we've indulged in a fight over redistribution"
Indulged?
Dealing with inequality is somehow over-generous? Does he think people choose to be poor & face disadvantage? Disgusting
#MiniBudget
After the good news about Evusheld yesterday, it turns out the U.K. government haven’t actually ordered a single dose of it.
“Evusheld: Fears growing among cancer patients they may never receive 'game changing' Covid drug”
It’s good to hear that I haven’t been alone in raising the issue of lack of infection control with the Belfast trust.
As someone who has infusions that make me severely immunosuppressed, I was surprised that no precautions where in place in the infusion suite/ward area.
All aspects of our health service are under great strain & close to collapse, including cancer services. This has been the hardest interview I've ever done and I only decided to do it so I could try and change things for other families. I also don't know how staff cope.
IMO is that Doug comes across as very honest & likeable. Sometimes maybe that honesty gets him into uncomfortable political situations but I think that is a good quality to have as the normal person outside of politics relates to that. He also does seem very grounded

I always knew the

Next Oakeshott will be calling for the return of workhouses or forced community service.

I’ll forever be grateful for that.
I hope he’s elected by the people of East Antrim tomorrow

I’m glad to see that the women involved are finally getting the long overdue recognition they deserve thanks to

Shameful that it’s taken this long
After 557 days of shielding somehow the dreaded day did arrive yesterday.

I think you need to be holding another meeting with JvT in regards to this. This isn’t good enough.
The pressures & strains this is putting on the CEV & immunosuppressed won’t be doing their health any good.

Thank you for your honesty & sharing your own personal experiences because that’s how we educate people & remove the stigma around the subject
Penny Mordaunt is displaying signs of unease & tension with Liz Truss.
You can see the unease in the sitting posture & the move away from Truss, which is an attempt to put distance between them. There’s also an eye roll at something Truss says.
I’ve watched the full Jeffrey Donaldson speech. It’s laced with genuine anger and rage, you can tell that because of his voice wobbles while talking & body signals are perfectly in sync.
The body language of the person directly behind is the real interesting aspect.
It must be incredibly tiring to walk around carrying this much hatred in your heart everyday.
Seemingly striving for a society that is fair & equal for everyone is now a “Woke agenda”
Personally I’d rather be “woke” than full of hatred.
Nicola Sturgeon’s demise and sudden resignation should be a warning to all those politicians that pander to the woke agenda. The public are not fools, they see right through agendas and believe in biological facts that being a man is a man and a woman, a woman.
@dgurdasani1
As an immunosuppressed individual, how exactly do I stay vigilant?
Do I watch for COVID particles?
Do I physically have to fight people to stay away?
Do I walk around in a full hazmat suit?
Do I just stay locked away?
Soundbites are easy, the reality is completely different
Very informative morning preparing for my upcoming PIP appeal.
It’s nice to be treated with compassion & decency.
The bonus was getting to push for better awareness of crohns colitis & have more discussions in the future.
@stewartcdickson
It’s amazing what fear of an upcoming election & opinion polls can do. As an ex officer I find it astonishing that she is saying she supports the police but not the CC. All are attempting to uphold the law. This endangers all PSNI officers regardless how much she tries to deny it

Last night my youngest nephew appeared at our door out of the blue.
He said he knew I’d had a rubbish week with new medication & thought a little treat would make it better.
It’s amazing how a little act of kindness can have such a positive influence on someone.

I thought it was just them putting in the bare minimum.
There’s a lot of unanswered questions.
The whole “back to work” rhetoric does make me uneasy about their future plans.
As someone diagnosed with multiple invisible disabilities/rare diseases I want to raise awareness of invisible disabilities.
I also want to ask people to just be kind & not judge others. We don’t know what struggles other people are living with daily.
#InvisibleDisabilitiesWeek
@CllrMichaelLong
You can have a thick skin on some issues but this display of hate & intimidation just should not be tolerated. No one should have to put up with that! To even suggest differently displays a lack of character & morals.
It’s encouraging to see disabled people being at the forefront of a party manifesto.

I hate the term “special needs”. I listened to Paul Givan say it multiple times last night on the Nolan Show.
It’s such a patronising & offensive term.

Yet he claims he knows how people are struggling in this cost of living crisis. His flat renovation cost more than some peoples homes!

@DarrenArsenal1
Very good and well thought out set of tweets. The concern I have is I’m losing the enjoyment and escape Arsenal used to provide. Years ago we felt like a club where
@Arsenal
genuinely cared about the fans feeling part of the core. Now days it feels like they really just dont care
I think it’s incredible to see how many former
@BelfastGiants
players are tweeting the club wishing them luck for the cup final on Sunday. I know it’s a cliche but it really shows that the Giants are more than just a sports team and I’m incredibly proud that they are my team
Cant thank my GP enough for talking me through my diagnosis from yesterday and the possible roads ahead. Considering it was an emergency appointment & with all the pressures they are experiencing, I certainly didn’t expect him to spend so much time talking it over with me.
This is
@BorisJohnson
reaction to a fellow elected MP asking about the amount of covid deaths in the UK.
Any normal person would be ashamed of it but seemingly Johnson thinks it’s something to mock
It’s insulting to each & every family
#PMQs
It looks like I’ve yet another long winter ahead of me.
The
#immunosuppressed
of the U.K. are invisible to this government. They really have no concern for the Groundhog Day situation that we are still stuck in over 2 years later.
#Evusheld
could change that for us.
Feel sick & disgusted.
@DHSCgovuk
has shelved plans to protect the most vulnerable patients with Evusheld this winter, against the advice of 125 clinicians. This is a complete u-turn and a betrayal of the people who most need protection. A third Christmas in isolation.
20 years ago today I was rushed into hospital with some my organs starting to shutdown as they where attempting to preserve the major ones.
Today I’m thankful for the nurses & the specialists that got me through those dark days. Without them I really wouldn’t be here today.
@RobbieButlerMLA
People naturally respond better to positivity and I’ve certainly found you to always be positive.
It certainly shows how something simple can have an impact on others
Listening to BBC Radio Ulster this morning from Ballymena.
Personally I’d rather my local MP was working towards fixing issues with IBD clinics & mental health access which I personally emailed him about (without reply), than trying to paint himself as NI’s version of Braveheart.
It must be lovely not having to worry about timeframes.
While people awaiting test results, cancer treatment, colitis/crohns care & a wide range of other health issues can do nothing but worry about timeframes.
@CovidJusticeUK
My aunt & uncle ,who lived in London, spent their last Christmas alone, died alone & we couldn’t attend their funerals (there was 4 people at their funeral)
We did everything they asked yet a few miles down the road they partied.
Now they laugh in our faces.
I’m so angry
I’m genuinely delighted that

@AngelaRayner
Absolutely disgusting.
I’ve lost families members and have had to shield for currently nearly 500 days without help from this government. I’m not a coward cowering away, I trying to protect my family from anymore grief and loss. How dare he basically call us all cowards
This young man in the Ukraine was talking about trying to get out of the city using the train. He says it’s impossible for disabled people due to the long standing around & cramped coaches so many disabled people are having to stay in the war zone.
That’s absolutely horrendous
My thanks to the incredible staff in the Ballymena vaccination centre today. They made the visit to receive my third primary dose today effortless.
@NHSCTrust
It’s disappointing to hear about the removal of the hybrid option for local councillors. As someone who has stressed the importance of getting more disabled people involved in local politics, it’s incredibly disheartening to see another barrier placed in our way.
@sianalliance

Today has been a tough day for those of us who are fighting hard to make peoples lives better in Northern Ireland. The current political shenanigans hang like a dark sky over the country but to use a quote from one of my favourite movies…..
The most effective thing

is to simply read out some of the names of people who passed away on the date of the Downing Street party last year and the thoughts of their families.
Sad to wake up to the news of a friend passing away overnight.
The world seems a little bit darker this morning.
Thank you for the memories & inspiring us with your never give up attitude. We’ll miss you C.
It’s overlooked just how mentally draining & physically exhausting living with chronic illnesses can be .
