For what it's worth, I'm almost entirely requesting partials at this point (usually 3 chapters). While it would obviously be simpler to just have the full, I still have a day job and it's easier, mentally, to scope out time for the chapters vs a whole MS.
I think,,, I’ll be requesting partials over fulls moving forward. I’ve developed a decent gut-instinct where I can tell whether I want an MS or not by the 50-page mark, so I don’t lead ppl astray by requesting the entire thing 🙏🏻 rejections will still have feedback of course

It's okay to start new things in your thirties, forties, fifties, etc. It's GOOD to start new things. It's never too late. Sometimes we don't know what we want or need until we've had a real chance to see what's out there. 💜
I was mediocre at best in English classes growing up, didn’t read for fun until I was in my late twenties, & started writing at 34. I’m now 41 w/ an agent & a 3-book deal at a dream publisher. There’s no such thing as timelines or the right age. There’s only dreams & persistence.
