Vandalism of the planters and bollards within the St Mary's LTN is unacceptable - residents shouldn't need to personally enforce traffic restrictions, putting themselves at risk. The LTNs are a trial. We must give them the time they need so we can see if they are a success.

Disappointed to see @OxfordCity pressing for an investment zone, despite firm opposition from @OxfordshireCC. These zones are a Tory scam, pushing growth at the cost of environmental protections, affordable housing, and local democracy. We must reject these across Oxfordshire.

Virtually all cllrs for the St Mary's LTN area support their introduction. Residents are tired of congestion, speeding through-traffic and awful air pollution - we know, because we've spent years consulting local people. Far from delaying, we need the LTN brought in asap.
We have written to Oxfordshire County Council to express our concern with the recommendation, published today, that the County Council plans to move forward with the implementation of the East Oxford LTNs in early 2022. We ask for this decision to be deferred.

We need to drastically reduce the traffic caused by private schools, a significant cause of congestion in East Oxford. But ripping out the LTNs would be irresponsible and is not a solution to very real problems with congestion, pollution and tackling the climate emergency. 7/7.

St Mary’s LTN is a thriving active travel network helping people from all backgrounds. At weekends it is busy with people visiting cafes + shops. On weekdays families now walk/cycle to school. Myself and @rosierawle have used ward funding for new cycle racks to meet demand!. 2/7.

Oxford's traffic problems aren't fixed, but the LTNs are a huge step in the right direction. We still need better public transport . We need solutions to issues at the Plain, including making sure that no-one else is injured or killed here or anywhere else. 6/7.

I have stood on Howard Street and done a traffic count before the LTNs came in - it was car, after van, after taxi, after motorbike driving all the way from Cowley to Iffley Road, putting our community at risk with high speeds and pollution. 4/7.

Big business should not have this power over local councils. £800k is <0.1% of this project's cost and can have no genuine impact on viability, whereas £800k spent on community infrastructure could have a huge impact for local people.

Incredibly proud that @OxfordCity tonight unanimously voted to support a ceasefire in Gaza. Cllrs from all parties came together to echo local people's calls for an immediate and permanent end to the violence, asking the UK govt to use it's diplomatic power to broker peace.

Academic freedom gives you no right to be transphobic. Student protest is not harassment. As a @SussexUni alumni, I'm ashamed of this statement. Kathleen Stock has no place at a university so many attend in hope of finding a haven to express their sexuality and gender identity.

On Monday, @OxfordCity cllrs voted unanimously in favour of mine and @chrisjarvisdiy's call for rent controls. Housing is about having a safe and secure place to live. It should never be about those who can afford to buy property making excessive profits from those who cannot.

So proud to have spoken at @ACORNOxford's demo today and said #YestoDSS!. Refusing to rent to those on benefits is illegal, yet landlords and lettings agents flagrantly break the law 👿 I'll be supporting the council motion on Monday to end this injustice in Oxford.
