I enjoyed the conversation last week with @stephen_tapp , @trevortombe and @DanCiuriak on Canadian policy toward Trump, tariffs and trade moving forward. Thanks CABE for organizing. Watch it here:

Helpful notes by @snlester on Lutnick's trade comments. Most ironic quote by Lutnick was on IRA’s tax credits for imported luxury EVs: “They should pay America an extra 7,500 bucks just for being that rich.” (Here I thought Trump campaigned against taxing the rich :).
Update: I jotted down some notes about a few items from the Howard Lutnick hearing: The CHIPS Act; the IRA; tariffs and unfairness; tariffs for non-trade purposes; opening foreign markets; and digital trade.

My comments in today's Toronto Star on Canada's trade diversification challenges. And for the trade nerds, gravity even got a shoutout in a major daily.
Donald Trump is exploiting Canada's reliance on trade with America. Why don't we trade with more countries? From @TondaMacC and me, @torontostar
