Via its tariffs on China, the US also closed the de minimis exception of $800. This impacts Cdn firms who manufacture in China for export to US. Also, if Canada is found to transship parcels from China into US, it adds to our border challenges.

Helpful notes by @snlester on Lutnick's trade comments. Most ironic quote by Lutnick was on IRA’s tax credits for imported luxury EVs: “They should pay America an extra 7,500 bucks just for being that rich.” (Here I thought Trump campaigned against taxing the rich :).
