If you want to learn something about trade and tariffs, watch this webinar. Invest in the plus-hour discussion.
I enjoyed the conversation last week with @stephen_tapp , @trevortombe and @DanCiuriak on Canadian policy toward Trump, tariffs and trade moving forward. Thanks CABE for organizing. Watch it here:

And this too.

Trevor’s map gives us a good idea of Canada’s pushback. Well done.

Some good estimates of the effects of tariffs; bad situation because of what?
ICYMI: With inflation and interest rates down, monetary policy is better positioned to help the economy adjust to new developments. But the threat of US tariffs is a major source of uncertainty. 👉 Find out what we're doing to prepare: #economy #cdnecon

Here's some good information about any strategy to push back. Any counter-tariffs need to be offset/balanced from the rest of the country. We can't just roll over on this.
Where might U.S. tariffs have the greatest effect in Canada? Here's an experimental estimate of exports to the U.S. per worker by census division. #cdnecon

Good story here. Adds to the oil provided by Alberta to the US. This whole Trump yap might just come down around his ears.

I've always enjoyed Trevor's economic assessments. Learn something every time. Thanks, and Happy New Year.
@trevortombe is generous with his time and expertise. I've interviewed him many times and always learn so much. Like @Sean_Speer I'm especially grateful he's willing to engage broadly - with those who agree and disagree.

I have to agree; very poor respect for a friend and neighbour.
This is carrying the ‘joke’ too far: the casual disrespect, the poor tax math, and ignoring that workers on both sides of our border will be better off if we work together. Time to call it out, stand up for Canada, and build a true North American partnership 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 🇲🇽
