Just listened to a wild podcast exchange between Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani. Rudy is spinning the Antifa-did-this đ€Ż. And Bannon is like, âRudy. Rudy. Rudy. OK. OK. Fine. Fine.â. Bannon: âI donât mind being shut down for my craziness. Iâm not gonna be shut down for yours.â.

How busy is the news lately? Former government officials say there's a program that tracked friggin' alien visits to Earth, & they've seen beyond-next generation technology, & recovered material that does weird things to the human body and it's like STORY NUMBER 19 OF THE WEEK
A former Pentagon official who led a recently revealed government program to research potential UFOs said he believes there is evidence of alien life reaching Earth

The longest pause Iâve ever seen at a press conference, ever.
Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was just asked to comment directly on President Trump's handling of the protests and violence in the US. Trudeau, who is usually quick to answer, paused for a very, very long time. This was his response.

Honestly, this reaction struck me. Look at the size of this crowd. Nobody clapped at the anti-NATO, anti-Ukraine stuff. Gives the impression this view is much more popular on social media than it is in the real world. Even here.
David Sacks blasts NATO expansion and Ukraine aid at the Republican convention. I estimate approximately 7 people in the entire arena clapped.

Canada's last Conservative PM unloads on Trump: "I must admit to being shocked by some of the things he's said. They're just not so.". "First of all we don't actually sell dairy into the United States.". The trade deficit? "You buy our oil and gas at a discount from world.

@carolyndunncbc Yikes. If everyone began interpreting the rules that way it would mean no foreign agencies could, ever, send reporters for a major breaking event. Like, say, an election or shock event like a 9/11. Would be a game-changer for global coverage of US stories, if this were new policy.

For the record, covering a mass-shooting is the most miserable, soul-crushing thing and, while Iâve never even bothered discussing this point with a colleague, Iâm sure most journalists fear being assigned to cover one.
The NRA's Dana Loesch looks at media in back of room at CPAC and says: You guys "love" mass-shootings. Because crying white mothers are ratings gold, she says to the press.

From the deposition: âQ. When did you first learn about the existence of . The Dossier?â A. âNovember 2016 Halifax International Security Forum. The exact date was November 19th.â . McCain was informed later that day, in a meeting room in Halifax. 11 days *after* the election.
So it was indeed (just proven in court papers) âlast in his classâ (Annapolis) John McCain that sent the Fake Dossier to the FBI and Media hoping to have it printed BEFORE the Election. He & the Dems, working together, failed (as usual). Even the Fake News refused this garbage!.

The Associated Press has also fact-checked Trumpâs comments on Canada/Trudeau/trade Friday night. The verdict: âTrumpâs account is puzzling and at odds with U.S. trade statistics. Trudeau is right that the US has a trade surplus with Canada.â
AP FACT CHECK: Trump makes dubious assertions about monument lands, economy; Alabama's Roy Moore wrestles with accusations.

Something unusual unfolding in DC. White House NSA Sullivan says he made a rare offer: to personally brief intel committee members in Congress on a serious national security issue. Briefing scheduled tomorrow. Sullivan says he's surprised to hear Turner talking publicly today.
House Intel Chair Mike Turner says all members of Congress have access to info on "a serious national security threat.". Requesting Biden "declassify all information relating to this threat so that Congress, the Administration, and our allies can openly discuss" response actions.

An insight into the NAFTA renegotiations where the US fought â hard â to limit baby-formula production in Canada.
The US did all it could to prevent Canada from developing excess production capacity so we couldnât compete with them in Asia. Thatâs why they freaked about a Chinese dairy investment in Kingston, ON. They wanted it shut down. We said no, because jobs. It was a full blown thing.

Context: the CDC has suggested a 9-page checklist for schools on everything from cleaning to distancing practices. It has also produced guidelines with different reopening standards for different case levels. The checklist: 1/2.
I disagree with @CDCgov on their very tough & expensive guidelines for opening schools. While they want them open, they are asking schools to do very impractical things. I will be meeting with them!!!.

Canadian government folks sound genuinely perplexed that there are people in the White House who think thereâs any threat of Canadians fleeing to the country with the fastest growth of COVID-19 cases in the world.
PM Trudeau says Canada is pushing back against the idea from the U.S. that troops are necessary near the border.

I wrote this about 6 election deniers looking to take control of elections in US swing states. Now looking like they went 0 for 6.
BIG: Republican Mark Finchem HAS LOST the secretary of state election in Arizona. Dem Adrian Fontes wins. Finchem was THE election denier of this cycle, running to take over elections in Arizona. He'd have had the power to certify elections (and made it clear he wouldn't).

Republicans will be providing far better Healthcare than the Democrats, at a far lower cost. And will always protect people with Pre-existing conditions!!!!.

Ambitious Republican politicians are all over investigating Gofundme. In the replies some Canadians are like, yes, please, we want to learn more about foreign donations to a group that explicitly advocated for the overthrow of the government of Canada.
It is a fraud for @gofundme to commandeer $9M in donations sent to support truckers and give it to causes of their own choosing. I will work with @AGAshleyMoody to investigate these deceptive practices â these donors should be given a refund.

Yup. Itâs not just Trump made up a trade deficit on the spot with Trudeau - itâs what he did after the facts came in: ignores the service economy, makes up some weird metric on how adding lumber and timber changes everything. Itâs a multi-layered wedding cake of falsehoods
So final summary: 1) The president is bragging that he made stuff up with a foreign leader; 2) He is claiming his made-up thing was then magically proven correct; 3) His explanation for why he was actually correct is fictional; 4) Heâs still currently incorrect. A+.
