It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve as Florida’s Attorney General. Working right alongside @GovRonDeSantis, we moved the state in the right direction – fighting federal overreach, protecting children and families, and bolstering law enforcement to create a safe environment for business and tourism to thrive. While the victories are far too numerous to list, I know that over the past six years we fulfilled our promise to build a #StrongerSaferFlorida, and I’m excited to continue my service to the state I love in the U.S. Senate. We have a lot of work to do to fix the mess created over the past four years, but now it’s time to focus on helping @realDonaldTrump build a #StrongerSaferAmerica.

My first action against the lawless Biden administration as Florida’s Attorney General was taking them to court as they reversed decades-long precedent of deporting criminals and instead allowed violent illegal aliens to roam the streets of the United States without consequences.   The Laken Riley Act, passed last night by the U.S. Senate, will no longer allow the type of reckless policies the Biden administration implemented. This legislation will permanently end what I was fighting the Biden administration to stop and keep violent illegal aliens out of our communities.   I commend the Senate for giving the states the power to hold future lawless administrations accountable when they put Americans at risk.

Today, we bid a fond farewell to Florida’s Solicitor General, Henry Whitaker. Henry led our Solicitor General’s Office with skill and determination – achieving many successes for our office and our state. He leaves the Florida Attorney General’s Office with a 2-0 record in cases before SCOTUS.    Thank you, Henry, for your years of service, and I wish you future success at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Looking forward to hearing from @KristiNoem this morning as she begins her confirmation process. She will fill a critical position that has essentially been left vacant over the last four years thanks to Biden and Mayorkas deciding to simply not enforce the law. I have no doubt that Kristi Noem will step into this role and work with President @realDonaldTrump and Congress to shut down the wide-open border.

As Florida’s next U.S. Senator, I will work tirelessly to reduce the bloat of Washington and speak out loudly against government spending. Like we've done in Florida, this country needs to cut spending and get fiscally responsible. As a former judge, I will take my role confirming judges and justices seriously to ensure that, like Justices Thomas and Alito, they share the values and concepts of law as our Founding Fathers understood them. I will work through the Senate confirmation process to ensure those who get confirmed are strong nominees and know that it is their duty to interpret the Constitution as it is written.

For the last four years, Florida fought the failed Biden administration’s reckless border policies. Time after time, we sued to stop them from violating federal immigration law. @GovRonDeSantis and I won many of these legal battles. In the U.S. Senate, I will support President @realDonaldTrump and fight for legislation that strengthens the border, builds the wall, and removes those who entered unlawfully.
