In a world of my consumption of media being relatively high, podcasts such as

For some people work is an escape from home/family.
As more jobs get automated over the years, being comfortable and happy at home with your family becomes crucial.
You can’t choose your parents but your life partner is the most important decision you’ll ever make.
Founders, don't let idle cash sit on your account and not earn interest, it could literally mean a new hire or more customers!

Announcing this fundraise is something I’ve been looking forward to for a while now, but as I remember from my time in VC: fundraises don’t matter - customers do. It’s been a genuine joy to bring Vitt Treasury to life over the past few months.
@ric0seq
A lot of the smartest founders and people I know in Europe are moving to the U.S. — SF and NYC are the obvious suspects.
Europe and the UK is losing out on a lot of talent, agree.
@shak
@modic123
@a16z
In my view
@PointNineCap
has pioneered the content production model here in Europe and founder support (financial models, decks, etc. as templates) + metrics that a lot of founders use as a reference and value. Of course focused on early stage but still holds.
✨ Eraser AI, the first copilot for technical design.
So many coding copilots, but what about a copilot for non-coding tasks like drawing arch diagrams and writing tech docs?
After 1M diagrams generated, Eraser AI is here for engineers and architects.

What are we talking about? 👇
@paulbz
From experience, customers, especially in SMB in the US do care a lot about US HQ and having boots on the ground. Having a US "HQ" does matter I find
"almost 98% of people in the world will try to pull [your ambition back] and say 'seems a little bit too crazy, a little bit too out there, a little bit too ambitious"
Good take and not talked about enough.
You need some degree of wealth (upper middle class) to have the mind-space to start building a generational company.
Great companies are products of _leisure_.
Poor people don't start great enterprises. Why? Because they're too busy trying to survive.
OpenAI, Anduril, and SpaceX were all started by people with the freedom to do whatever the hell they want.

yap, unless you have a clear edge or differentiated approach, you'll likely get middle of the bell curve returns which are not acceptable.
smaller funds are on the rise though.

The team is on fire! ;)
There’s a lot of alpha in striking up conversations with people you don’t know in person. Basically no downside. Unlimited upside. Not many do it.
Some of my best friendships and relationships came from something that started as that.
Charging for pitch feedback is grifting.
Ping me and I’ll gladly help you perfect it. Have done this several times and put rounds together for friends/portfolio.
The TechCrunch journalist who got fired for telling half of Silicon Valley CEOs to “fuck all the way off” is now trying to convince founders to pay him $20,000 to review their pitch decks 😂

“You succeed by doing the right deals, not haggling over valuations” still applies today.
Having never worked in anything other than startups in my career - still astonished by how slow big incumbents and corporates (on average) operate.
Just getting a reply takes 3/4/5 follow-ups. No urgency, always on annual leave (more like weekly leave). No wonder they'll die.
With employee benefits such as an MacBook and gym subs. being payed by the employer, I can definitely see a world where a new benefit of that stack will include

or the
@Apple

Family is all that matters.
We so often search for idols in today’s world to look up to, when the real heroes are so close to us and have so many lifetime stories to tell us about sacrifice, wars, and much more.
@philippvdk
I'd argue even more than 3x.
The Nasdaq 100 has returned 5x MOIC on a pretty consistent basis for the last number of years. If you just take a 10-year rolling QQQ that's a 5x MOIC for a long time.
Not many venture funds return 5x consistently.
