Happy to share our report. If we cut US O&G prod'n to zero and allocated that prod'n proportionally to the rest of the world, then CO2E emissions from flaring would at least triple the US current CO2E. And the US is trending lower.

This article is complete misinformation. The only true sentence is the first - power was cut off to the oil and gas fields which needed such power to produce natural gas to fuel Texas’ power grid in a time of need.

There are two primary things that non local investors complain consistently about visiting Midland
1) Nowhere to stay downtown that doesn’t smell like a literal sewer
2) Uber drivers, apparently they figured out how to unionize and force surge pricing randomly

All great points, importantly: 1. Scope 1/2 emissions and methane are what oil companies can “control” and therefore reduce, and 2. Oil companies don’t have “customers”. What other business doesn’t spend $1 on marketing? Every barrel we produce is bought every day
1 of 10/ We badly need a new a narrative around climate and energy, if the goal is to have reliable, affordable energy the world needs with less CO2. The current “Oil is Evil and the New Tobacco” playbook, IMO, is driving a worst of all worlds outcome: Higher prices, Same CO2.
