These two days have been very hard. Death may be preferable.
And no, this isn't anxiety or fear- mongering.
#LongCovid
.
I don't fucking recommend it.
Stop transmission.
Nothing good comes from infection.
If a hospital drops mask protection, don't go there.
Cancel your appointments.
Hit them in their bottom line.
In a month they'll be begging people to mask.
@CBCNews
@adamsmiller
They're protections, not restrictions.
This makes hospitals inaccessible to the immunocompromised.
Almost everyone who had Covid-19 has some immune dysregulation.

Any mask beats no mask, but

Especially if you are one-way masking. Two-way masking is 10x more effective.
Masks that are poor for protecting the wearer can still be effective as source control, as recent studies have shown.

It's never been a thing.
It's completely made up.
Two months of home school in 2020 did not cause RSV in 2022 and there was a huge amount of RSV in 2021.
There's less RSV this year (so far) but more hospitalizations. The infections are more severe: that's immunity theft.
*NEW* Multiple sources have confirmed, that AHS on Friday refused to reinstate a masking requirement for Health care facilities in Alberta... Even with COVID Unit outbreaks being declared multiple times a day. Some of the reasons given point to Lagrange & The UCP.. /17

So many (myself included) retired early to avoid infection. I still ended up with
#LongCovid
, but it was the right choice.
The benefit of a few more years of work wasn't worth risking the retirement years I'd worked so hard for.

If this had been published a year ago, the pandemic would be long over. A lot of old white men denied Covid-19 because it didn't affect them.

Masks are the key to blocking transmission.
Unmasked, even outdoors, is certain to result in infection eventually.
The odds may be in your favour, but eventually your name will be drawn.
This is simply how risk works.
Many small risks become certainty.

@CBCFletch
And people are thinking they will be positive as soon as they have symptoms. Vaccinated people may not get a positive until 5+ days of symptoms.
@TheTyee
And if we've learned only one thing, it's that children's infections drive overall infections into all cohorts, including their parents, teachers, and grandparents. Many of these people will be amongst our most vulnerable.
@AbraarKaran
If you are one-way masking for many hours a day, you must upgrade to an elastomeric respirator.
The 0.5% risk inherent in N95s will get you in the end.

You "have" Covid before you are infectious.
You aren't positive on a rapid test until you are infectious.
Grade schoolers understand this.
Your parents must be proud.
@FurnessColin
Immune system didn't recover in 8 months. That was just the length of the study. We don't know how long the weakening of their immune systems will last.
@NightShiftMD
@cheryldambrose
Since this is everybody, wear a mask.
Not just any mask - N95-level masks or, even better, elastomeric respirator.
One-way masking is inadequate.
