"In the wake of COVID-19, Canada's governments have normalized operating during a respiratory pandemic," it says. "But the damage to the economy and to the social fabric of the nation is ongoing."
The data didn't stop being collected because the pandemic was under control. The data stopped being collected because the pandemic was out of control. The average person does not realize this.
I thought at the very least one lesson from the pandemic is that it would no longer be socially acceptable to come to work/school sick. Nope, not even that. Sick people love going out & spreading their sickness now even more than they did pre-pandemic. Everything is worse.
We've gone backwards. Not just to pre-Covid as

still surges, but much worse.

John Stewart's first episode of his podcast after coming back from having C-vid, he says it's the first time he's had it, and it was terrible. He jokes that it finally got him despite being a hermit. These people are being careful, they just don't talk about it publicly.
I got mocked by a former friend for being the only one masked at my father's funeral. My father who was infected with covid 2x while in hospital. I watched him beg for help, a breath from dying. He survived, barely, for a few more months. Staff off sick constantly. 🖕😷🖕
In the U.S. the "low" in June 2021 was 12,626 daily cases.
Today, our "low" is 173,758 daily cases.
That's 13.7 times higher than our 2021 lows.
With each wave our "lows" keep rising.
We've never returned to anything close to the lows in 2020/2021. It only goes up and up.

's Victoria General Hospital have been infected with covid. All journalists glaringly ignoring it. These oath breakers regularly infect their patients due to institutionalized, wilful negligence. You'll soon see when it's your fam's turn.
Let's be clear the "vax & relax" crowd don't even vax anymore. We had like 20% uptake for the last round. Most people are just straight up living a mass delusion.
"Flu-like illness" should be "covid-like illness" if ppl are being honest. Covid is by far the statistically most likely explanation. If you're afraid to say that you should get your anxiety treated & stop living in denial. It's not healthy.
Someone I know working in healthcare who doesn't mask says "if wearing an N95 was a good thing to do, I think someone would have told us that by now."
Which is exactly why Public Health officials & hospital administrators need to face accountability. They're kiling people.
Remember the toilet paper hoarding phase? Well, I'm looking at Europe right now. I think now is the time to make sure you have a good supply of all your essentials. The supply chain can only sustain so much illness before the dominoes start to fall.
🧵 Just 15% of people wearing N95 masks could drastically reduce COVID in our community. We don’t need everyone to mask up for it to make a big difference—here’s why.👇

's largest hospital has been infected with SARS + 6 LTC facility outbreaks. Tune in to CBC National this eve to hear CMOH Dr. Robert Strang & Ian Hanomansing discuss their grievances with public discourse!
My dad went deaf after the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax infected him with covid for the second time. They tried to blame it on one of his drugs, which was thoroughly refuted by his doctor.
Someone told me today that they heard a doctor explain how their patient had Covid but also had a wedding to go to, and the doctor told them TO JUST GO.
💯 "It is absolutely fucking ridiculous that we are living in an era in which you risk social ostricization if you bring up the reality of the damage people are doing by contracting a disease repeatedly."
Basically I view my covid cautiousness as a huge competitive advantage. I'm biding time for a sterilizing vaccine, or society coming to its senses. The latter I don't hold out much hope for. I'll be happy to emerge from the wreckage with a clear conscience & functional brain.
Went to get a new license plate today. Decided to get a conservation - species at risk plate. I pay up and they bring me 2 to choose from: "PEDO8" or "PED09". Having to explain why I wouldn't accept either of them was another episode in my "Curb Your Enthusiasm" type of life.
WOW. This is on CBC!? What next? Holding Public Health officials accountable? Tell the public that covid is a deliberately unmitigated, airborne,
#longcovid
mass disabling event? Talk to experts who tell the truth? More of this please.
This is incredible. This man is telling the truth seated beside Dr. Bogoch who Canada's CBC exclusively platforms for all their pandemic info. Bogoch has been wrong so many times & contorted himself to uncomfortable lengths to lie by omission. A humiliating position he deserves.
Still find it amazing they removed masks in hospitals. You'd think removing airborne infection controls would be the last thing you do in an airborne pandemic. Something done with 100% confidence that all problems have been fixed. Has anyone been fired for the resultant collapse?
Ironic how at
#NovaScotia
's Victoria General hospital, one side of the plastic you're exposed to Asbestos & asked to use full respiratory PPE. On the other side you're exposed to an airborne level 3 biohazard & asked to wash your hands 🤷♂️.
Canadians have to get vaccinated in the United States because Canadian Public Health has catastrophically failed, again. This as the SARS pandemic is the worst it has ever been at this time of year. I've seen precisely zero Canadian mainstream news pieces on this.
How many infections has the average person had by now? 4? That would make nearly 40% of the people you know have recently acquired health issues. Seems to check out in my social circle. The charade can't be kept up for much longer, this is unsustainable.
I think the COVID-cautious community needs to spend less time caring about people who are living in the 2019 delusion. We need to focus on how to create a sustainable community for those of us who have the resiliency to tackle reality. Normy society may implode sooner than later.
Imagine saying this after the last presidential debate, and then going on to be responsible for over 1 million additional deaths after being elected.
Now imagine the opposition party not even mentioning this in the next campaign because they have to pretend covid isn't real! LOL
I'm shocked at how effective Kwame McKenzie & Dawn Bowdish are in this piece.👇 Their understated, calm, factual, unemotional communication really highlights just how bizarre Bogoch's stance is. Panels on CBC & other MSM usually tow a line of obfuscation, spin & lies by omission.
Saw a vid on how to survive a plane crash. Many die due to things like the normalcy bias, seeking reassurance, wasting time milling about, unable to come to terms with reality. It's true. I was in a highway bus crash when I was a kid, I saw first hand what happens...
I view the covid crisis through that lens. I already know how people react in these situations so it's not surprising to me to watch people risk their lives because they're paralyzed by the normalcy bias. The maskers among us have the survival instincts & are able to help others.
Remember when
#NovaScotia
Premier Tim Houston emphasized he was a PROGRESSIVE Conservative? Now he has joined all Conservative Premiers in their shift to the Extremist Right. Everything he ran on was a lie.
Also worth noting that the person who caused the crash (our bus driver who fell asleep) was nowhere to be seen at any point. They didn't help, they hid. Shock, shame, inability to admit failure, cowardice, whatever it was, I see the same qualities in our current "leaders".
He was a veteran with a lifetime of service. Not that he deserved better treatment than others, just an extra bit of spit in his face. Spare me the Remembrance Day BS. He went out being treated like a bag of garbage by ppl who casually broke solemn oaths, unlike he ever would.
He didn't get fed half the time. Had to stand in the hall to flag down the meal cart. If he didn't he wouldn't get fed. My mom spoke up & they cut her out of communication. Sent him home on a few hours notice with no home care in place so I changed his diapers before he died.
Wake the fuck up, unions. We see you not protecting your members from a deliberately unmitigated mass disabling event. You've reduced your role to being wage arbitrators, nothing more. Let's get some real leaders in place who actually care about protecting workers rights.
When booking your covid Vax one of the questions they ask is if you've had covid in the last 6 months. This as the man overseeing all of this tells us there's no reason to test for covid. Lol. Public Health is now such a farce it's nothing more than a dark comedy.
I know that covid-conscious empaths are struggling hard. It's hard coming to terms with the fact that most ppl are not reachable. Don't throw yourself in front of the slow motion car wreck we're watching. You tried. Save your mental health. Look after yourself now more than ever.
Why are journalists allowed to get away with claiming we are "post-pandemic" when that statement is factually incorrect? Are there any standards at all anymore?
What a sinister zombie movie. The virus just slowly makes people dumber, unhealthier & more susceptible to multiple infections until the point to which society boils itself alive with cognitive dysfunction.
So is the WHO ever going to be asked what changed about SARS to make it require lesser secure biosafety procedures now? Or is this another thing that journalists have agreed to never ask?
Think of all the people deliberately silent about yet another wilfully negligent mass infection in our region's largest medical complex. 🐘🙈🙉🙊All of our politicians, all of our journalists, all of our unions, everyone in Public Health. 👏Every. 👏Single. 👏One.
Wow. My timeline is nothing but ERs in crisis & school attendance suddenly becoming a big priority. All happening everywhere all at once in different countries, continents & hemispheres.
It's weird how many people say they have pneumonia vs how many have covid. Covid is orders of magnitude more prevalent than any other respiratory illness, yet 95% of the time people I know say it's not covid that they have. Crazy odds defiance!
The main pandemic lesson learned by employers: if you're going to neglect the health & safety of your employees, do it on a big scale. Let an airborne level 3 biosafety hazard circulate completely unmitigated. You'll have legal immunity & even their unions won't say a word.
@JessicaLexicus
And how has the algorithm allowed it to become by far the most prolific trend that has ever come across my Twitter feed? At a time when social media has an algorithm-enforced pandemic taboo, it's astounding (and awesome).
@sstroschein2
No one has a clue. They thought the pandemic was over. The only ppl saying it wasn't were the "crazy people" in their periphery. They're perfectly shielded from reality.
Person I know in their early 30s just had a heart attack. They work a high exposure job. It'll never cross their mind nor the minds of most ppl around them (including healthcare providers) that covid could have anything to do with it.
This is so disgusting. Once again the failure to communicate that COVID is causing excess deaths has left a massive opportunity open for anti vaxxers to spread misinfo. COVID DAMAGES HEARTS, brains and organs!! Communicate this!!
@lithohedron
Definitely lying. I know people who lost taste & smell. It ruined their physical & mental health having all food taste like bleach. One nearly died by accidentally leaving gas running & not smelling it. It was devastating. Far from a minor inconvenience.
The biggest summer wave of the pandemic. The most covid there has been going into the school year with no vaccinations available. An epic failure of Public Health. Shameful that Canadians had to go to the United States to be vaccinated at the peak of one of the biggest waves
Ppl forget that Canada's Maritime provinces mitigated the pandemic out of existence. We just all wore masks in public. It wasn't hard at all. Ppl & businesses flocked here because of it. By letting it rip we became the disaster we were warned of if we didn't "flatten the curve".
It's a mindfuck to live in a place that used to lead the world in mitigating the pandemic. It was nearly eradicated here while the rest of the world chose collapsed healthcare, education & labour shortages. We mocked them. We masked. Now completely memory-holed since quitting.
3 or 4 of us didn't wait around. We got out of our seats and opened the roof emergency exit hatch. We helped the guy with the broken hip. Others still sat there silently in their seats some telling the screaming girl to settle down.
Most still waited in the bus, going through their belongings making sure to gather them. They all copied each other's slow response, not wanting to differ or freak out like they screamer. If the bus caught fire they'd have been far too slow.
The adults were ejected through the windshield. Help was not coming for three kids but they sat and waited for the grownups to come help and tell them what to do. It wasn't until the handful of us outside of the bus told them what to do that they finally exited.
@TristanSnell
Elon has really put himself in a weird position. His cash cow is an EV company. He panders to an audience of far right extremists who are taught to hate EVs. Most Tesla buyers hate his guts and the Tesla Board want him gone.
Relatives who take no precautions are back from vacation. All sick. Go figure. Good luck to their teachers & classmates. Shoutout to the teachers union for doing absolutely nothing to advocate for worker safety 4 years into a mass disabling airborne pandemic.
#TeacherShortage
This is the year they planned to make covid (falsely) equivalent to flu with a seasonal shot. This massive summer wave shows how recklessly stupid of a plan that is. They're relying on media to minimize & misinform the public as covid-caused societal dysfunction amps up.
@amandalhu
@22_Minutes
HIGHLY unusual to see anyone dare to touch this. Great job by 22 Minutes, they're one of very few in Canadian media who haven't sold themselves out.
So today was the day Trump had to pay $500 million or seize his assets! What did they take? Trump Tower? A golf course? Nope. They reduced it to $175 million & gave him a 10-day extension. LOL. The American legal system is an absolute joke.
The majority sit in silence, stunned. After we skidded off the highway and flipped, it was dead silent. No one said anything at all for well over a minute.
Ppl complaining about air travel makes me laugh. Folks, it ain't gonna get better. They're fully aware of the shitshow. They're half the reason you're perpetually sick now. You went along with it, so you'll just have to deal with the shitshow that is an unmitigated pandemic.
Then the silence is broken by one girl freaking out. And one guy yelling in pain from a broken hip. The rest remain in their seats looking around waiting for someone to tell them what to do.
@jimstewartson
The trolls increase with every covid wave. What's inexcusable is the normal people who have decided to put on blinders and assist in the dysfunction of our society by freely spreading endless waves of SARS. Disabling our schools, hospitals & workforce at an unsustainable rate.
Time to dust off those statements by provincial Public Health officials who told us that they'd bring back protections as needed if things got out of control. They should be spammed under every story about another collapsed ER.
This is the level of healthcare we have in NS now. With institutionalized SARS minimizarion, they now pretend everything is "just the flu." Infection controls have regressed 100 years.
How do we get the normies to connect the dots during the hospital crisis that's about to shock them? How do we hold the hospitals accountable for allowing themselves to be vectors of disease, and making staff sick at a critical time? This year's crisis can't be in vain again.
@chaitrovert
I'll never forget when the government was telling us there was no need for masks in the beginning. I knew it was to ensure supply for healthcare workers. I also knew the lie was a dangerous precedent for Public Health, treating the public like children who can't be told the truth
“it's likely that the new national COVID-19 dashboard is reporting, fewer than 2% of "excess/from" COVID-19 deaths in Canada for the 2024 respiratory virus season to date.”
Covid is certainly a far bigger workplace danger than asbestos. It's pretty wild that society is pretending otherwise. Irony is on full display at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax; on one side are airborne protections, but on the other there are none.
Why are people so afraid to say covid as the cause of death? If I die from it I want my corpse dropped off infront of the NS Legislature with a fucking neon sign saying what I died from.
@amandalhu
Of course. No matter what ppl in high places say, normal ppl don't want to work next to infectious ppl, no matter the illness. Cold, flu, SARS, there's no infectious filth that workers are cool with being exposed to. Encouraging it is Public Health's Marie Antoinette moment.
How come we see reporters in conflict zones inside hospitals showing us what's happening, but as our hometown ERs are in crisis they just sit at their desks repeating what they're fed?
At what point do we realize hospital infection controls are not adequate & stop playing politics with Public Health? You're not gonna like it when the hospital kills your mom & sweeps her hospital acquired death under the rug. Trust me.
@drseanmullen
Just started this one after seeing someone I follow here (I forget who) said if they could re-watch 1 show as though they hadn't already seen it, it would be this one. I saw 1 ep so far. Seems chillingly prescient (from 2014).
Virtually every health system across the globe is currently collapsed by covid again and subsequently, all have severe staffing shortages. All report it as if it's a local, rather than global problem. The cavalry aint coming. This is the logical outcome of letting a pandemic rip.
staff shortages include "150 openings for radiological technologists" ($33.50 an hour median), three year degree at Dal required.
"More Care, Faster" can't happen with More Pay and Training, Faster?
How much longer do we have to beat around the bush? Pierre Poilievre is obviously a traitor. Just like Jordan Peterson & Tucker Carlson. Why are we pretending to wonder why he won't get his security clearance? It's like wondering why a drug dealer won't file their taxes.
@CovidSolidarit1
Teachers are in some of the deepest denial of all. They're taking huge risks with their high exposure jobs. They comfort each other by living in a bubble of reality denial. Many of them now tell each other that constant illness is normal, as though it was always this bad. 🙈🙉🙊
@OliveSiffleur
Not even serfs in the dark ages would have put up with a ruling class that did this to them. Revolutions have been ignited over far less. Heads rolled for far less decadent corruption than there is now.
This is one of the most mind-bending parts of the whole thing. Getting sick with ANY virus EVERY SINGLE YEAR (minimum) is fucking INSANE. Talk about sheep! It's amazing what people will go along with. 🧟♂️
The average person has had covid 3.5 times in <3 years. There's a post going around about someone on their 14th confirmed covid infection. There is nothing good or normal about this
All of the children in my extended family have been infected from hockey. No one will pay attention to this but they should. Hoy shit ppl put a GD HEPA filter or 5 in those change rooms. Why are we being so terrible to kids?
We are testing new ways to help people understand the current risk of specific activities. This is our second attempt at a new format. Please provide feedback!
