8) To be clear - N95 is one of the best. But the absolute best respirator is ELASTOMERIC respirators with filters for both gas and organic compounds if near smoke. And ELASTOMERIC / P100 respirators are honestly not that expensive, and usually reusable.

Experts have warned that the failure to protect those in need around the world with vaccines & proper PPE would eventually create new variants like Omicron. The vaccine alone has approach has only guaranteed most countries are now unprepared now that it’s happened as expected.

That’s a great point. Other countries look to the USG for advice on what to do. The advice to discourage mask use & allow the virus to spread/mutate despite the large expected death toll is akin to recommending people jump of bridges for exercise.
