@MorlockP And don't kid yourself: serving as an elected official can be a major time sink. That's the one thing I didn't know before I ran that I wish I did...I thought it would take up a fair amount of time, but the extent needed to do the job right came as a bit of a surprise.

@travis4nh "Why don't you reach out to people" is just another way of saying "why don't you do your own research", and ignores the burden of proof in exactly the same way. If those people won in court, then they should have no trouble providing citations to the decisions and pleadings.

@bhagyeshsp @esrtweet I paid for Photoshop for years, and now pay for another proprietary program that does the same job in the same way (Affinity Photo), because it works and is usable. The GIMP, on the other hand, drives me absolutely batty every time I try and fail to use it.

@MikeBelcher14 Just a bunch of sovereign citizen kookery. If they were trying to give me "instructions" as an elected official, I'd tell them "thank you, have a nice day" and ignore them...although they wouldn't change my mind about doing things in those (likely, many) cases where we agree.

@Emywinst Banning guns is flat out impossible. Even if you were to repeal the Second Amendment, there are far, far too many in civilian hands to be effectively banned. We need to fix the real problem: why people want to shoot up schools in the first place.

@CoreyJMahler @daveobri We are a nation of immigrants. The key point is that the immigrants used to want to become American, and we welcomed them with open arms. Now, many immigrants want to keep their own nationality and culture instead of assimilating, and multiculturalism is the problem.

The dividing line between "should" and "is" is a court ruling that the law is unconstitutional. Until then, the law is valid.
