Happy 60th Birthday,
@PrivateEyeNews
.
I've been a reader since I was a teenager (initially purely for the cartoons; nowerdays primarily for the cartoons) so am genuinely thrilled that my own work has appeared in the mag in the past couple of years. Thank you.
Some favourites:
One of my cartoons from the previous Private Eye. One I'm rather fond of, as it happens.
I'm happy to also have a couple in the new edition - out today!
A
#cartoon
of mine in the current Private Eye. One of my favourite things I've had published, as it happens (if one is allowed to have such thoughts about one's own work).
#boardgames
Blimey. It's been a year since I drew this
#cartoon
about how the situation in
#Wuhan
probably wasn't as rosy as the authorities said.
It appeared in
@PrivateEyeNews
the next week and went on to the UK Political Cartoon Awards at the end of 2020.
Looking for a rundown of brat summer? An explainer of brat summer? Did Ed Davey have a brat summer?
All answers revealed soon (as well as world-class investigative journalism) because... IT'S PRIVATE EYE WEEK!
New edition in shops and with subscribers from Wednesday.
I still think that, rather than a trip to Kyiv and a press conference, a better way to announce the lifting of restrictions on ATACMS would have been to blow up lots of distant Russian things with them.
So, we seem to be moving to a long-belated U.S. decision to lift the ban on the Ukrainian use of ATACMS missiles on targets deep in Russian territory.
This is what is expected to be voiced today by Secretary Blinken, who has been confirmed to have arrived in Kyiv today along

Many thanks to all who voted and congratulations to all the other winners.
Heading towards the year's end again, so I've put together some favourite bits. Primarily an exercise for my own morale, but there'll be some of the best received
#cartoons
too.
Pleased to have a
#cartoon
in the new edition of
@PrivateEyeNews
that's out today.
As you track it down, here's one of mine from the last issue - some long-forgotten figure from a previous era making his exit.
My cartoon in the latest Private Eye, drawn for
@mcribbHistory
and all the other Napoleonic historians who've sat through the new film about the little corsican fella.
HundreDacre Wood.
#drawdacre
Not really sure what I'm doing here. Not sure if Dacre is even pronounced to rhyme with acre. Still, it's the most effort I'm prepared to put in at the busiest time of year.

The festival weekend's sunburn may have faded from my neck, but the

'rock the boat' exhibition continues until 15th August - still plenty of time for a visit.
Here's one of mine gracing the walls at

We're into the home straight now - last day tomorrow!

Sean Bean's birthday today. Seen the 'bastard' compilation and lots of screen-death montages being shared around so, instead, here's a

of him kicking a fenchman in the groin.

- Forgot to mention that each day of the show a real life

Last chance this afternoon!
