After some questions raised by the SNP, Douglas Lumsden has told me that neither he - nor anyone in his team - used AI to draft questions.

Scot Tory MSP Douglas Lumsden has denied using AI to ask written questions. He's had a busy month with almost 1,000 questions - which he says holds govt to account Points out he's not the MSP who's asked most written questions this session

Worth keeping an eye on some of the other recommendations - such as consideration of "cat containment" areas where they may have to be kept on owner property. Or even on leads. But there won't be a ban. And Govt were probs never going to seriously think about that. ENDS

A much better picture now at Glasgow central with most trains running, but Scotrail says disruption will continue into tomorrow

ℹ️ We are sorry to any customers who have been disrupted by the ongoing impact of Storm Eowyn on rail services. Work continues today (Sunday) to recover the railway from the very significant damage caused by the storm. @NetworkRailSCOT , which owns and maintains the railway infrastructure, has teams out checking routes for damage and carrying out repair work. Since the storm began on Friday, Network Rail has reported around 500 individual incidents across the network, including 120 fallen trees on the railway. Once Network Rail gives us the green light to reopen a route, we will get services back up and running as quickly as possible on that line. The following routes are currently operating services: Edinburgh – Aberdeen Edinburgh – Leven Edinburgh – Bathgate Edinburgh – Queen Street (via Falkirk High) Glasgow – Paisley Gilmour Street Glasgow - Kilmarnock Perth – Inverness Edinburgh – Inverness Edinburgh – Glenrothes (via Cowdenbeath) Edinburgh – North Berwick Edinburgh – Tweedbank Perth – Aberdeen Inverness – Kyle Inverness – Wick Aberdeen – Inverness Crianlarich – Oban Fort William – Crianlarich Fort William – Mallaig Network Rail hopes to reopen more routes this evening and first thing tomorrow morning after further repair works have been carried out, but there will be disruption into Monday. Anyone who is unable to use their tickets, or has made alternative arrangements, is entitled to a full refund on their unused train tickets, with no admin charge. Alternatively, tickets already purchased can be used up to and including Friday, 31 January 2025. Customers should visit for details of how to claim a refund. Please check the ScotRail website and app for the most up-to-date information when planning your travel. 📲

Still extensive train disruption today in scotland in the aftermath of Friday’s storm. At Glasgow central station and there’s very few trains running

Red weather warning will come into effect in Scotland at 0900 - we've already had winds of over 70mph recorded. Advice is to stay at home and only travel if necessary. In the last hour or so Tesco have announced stores in affected areas are closed

Nice to make my Scotcast debut today alongside ⁦@Torcuil⁩ (MP for Donald Trump’s mum’s home patch) - what does Trump 2.0 mean for us? And why doesn’t scotland make a bigger deal of his roots? Listen here 📻 📱

Cllr Kerr told BBC Drivetime "the party that I was warning about is no longer the party that exists", suggesting there'd been big changes in the past months Also said he was fed up of being "bussed around" by Scot Tories to campaign in "key seats" rather than focus on Glasgow

Glasgow Tory councillor defects to Reform. Not the first Scot Tory councillor who's made this journey, but definitely the most significant. Thomas Kerr widely regarded as a bit of a rising star in Scot Tories. Often given quite a platform by the party.

Enjoyed the first episode of Scotcast with ⁦@mmgeissler⁩ ⁦@nataliesophia⁩ and ⁦@chrisclements⁩ talking through Scotland’s first drug consumption room - more time for a proper in depth look at a complex issue:
