Mythic Championship in London, i’m 1-3, paired against player of the year Luis Salvatto after losing to world champion Javier Dominguez. I mess up Hive Mind combo from nerves, lose the match, tell him, “sorry, I’m so nervous,” and he smiles and says, “it’s okay, I played badly”

Wait! Call it off! There was a mixup and a very vaguely and suggestively worded email and it turns out my appeal was rejected.

Made top 4 of the 198-person Manila MCQ with Izzet Phoenix! Deck felt unstoppable in a local meta filled with Mono Red and Esper.
Moving forward, I think I'd drop 1 or both Saheelis for either Kefnet or Enigma Drake.

Won an LCQ to play my first RC in almost a year!
Really lucky to have friends willing to lend decks. This deck had mismatched recently printed full set basics so I had to swap them out for my lovely ONS lands

I got my PT MOM invite deferred to Barcelona! It’s so relieving not to have to worry about getting a rush visa application rejected.
The reality is, many Filipinos who qualify for American PTs will do so without knowing for sure whether they will be allowed to attend

Played two Pioneer Last Chance Qualifiers for the Showcase Q on MTGO and managed two 4-1s.
Both Rakdos Midrange and Winota felt great. I really love where Pioneer is at right now and I'm pretty crushed not to win anything before New Capenna.

Now that we're allowed to play Standard again, I banged out a quick 5-0 with Temur Rec. MD was great against the various creature decks I faced but I could see sticking a couple more counters in there to combat Niv/Azorius.

Really sad to not get the early Pioneer trophy with this sweet, broken deck, especially with the loss coming to Mono U Shitters. A quick 4-1 is encouraging though :)

As of Jan 1 I will go back to being a mtgo grinder, trying to qualify for events, and playing Challenges.
I took time off to take care of my health and my relationships, and that went well, but I miss running good too much to stay away!

Even if Mono G is clearly the best deck in Pioneer, I would still recommend picking up Rakdos Midrange as the 51% deck of the format.
I snagged a trophy with it yesterday, but I've also gone 4-1, 3-2, and 2-3 with it.
